Why So Serious?

Enter: Mockery

Greg isn't happy. They're making fun of him. Greg isn't happy. It's not good. Greg isn't happy and it's not good. It's not good at all.

He was picked already. He can kick the ball. He can kick it far. Greg can't. Greg isn't happy. Aaron calls him a scrub. Ricky blows a raspberry. He doesn't want to be made fun of either. So he blows a raspberry as well.

"Stop joking around!" Mrs. Dunford shouts. Leah gets picked. Ginny is picked. Andy is picked. Greg isn't picked. Greg can't kick the ball. No one wants a lame-o on the their team. Greg doesn't get picked.

He doesn't like making fun of Greg. He doesn't like it at all. No, no, no, it's not nice. He wants to lean in and say to Aaron pick Greg. But he knows they'll just laugh. They'll just make fun of him too. He doesn't say anything.

Poor Greg. Poor, poor, poor, Greg. It isn't fair. Life isn't fair. If life was fair they'd be no losers, he thinks. No one would get picked last. Poor Greg. Poor, poor, poor Greg. But someone always has to be picked last. Poor Greg. Poor, poor, poor Greg. That's why life isn't so fair. Poor Greg. Poor, poor, poor Greg.

Greg gets picked last. Greg joins his team. Aaron groans. He wants to shove Aaron. He wants to tell Greg not to worry. Poor, poor, poor Aaron. Aaron can't see what he's doing to poor, poor, poor Greg. Poor Aaron is blind. Poor Greg is picked last. Poor, poor, poor boys.

"Hey," Aaron smacks him. He's kicking first. He can kick the ball. He can kick it far. "Why so serious, man?"
