Dreams Only Last for the Night

"What did you just say?" Alex said, with wide eyes.

"You know what I said, please don't make me say it again," I said quietly looking down at my shoes. I could feel the tears pricking the corner of my eyes, and sliding down my face.

"Are you sure?" he asked softly.

"Positive," I whispered, the tears where still running down mt face. I heard Alex sigh heavily, next to me, then I felt him wrap his arms around me and hug me sideways.

"It's ok, please don't cry. Are we keeping it?" he asked. I looked up at him in shock, I truly didn't expect him to act like this.

"Your gonna help me?" I asked.

"Of course," he said.

"I would like to keep it," I said.

"Alright."

"Do you want to?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I want to help you take care of the baby," Alex said kissing the top of my head.

"Thank you," I said quietly.

"Have you told anyone else?"

"No, I thought you should know first."

"Okay," Alex said.

"Can we not tell anyone right now?" I asked.

"Yeah," he said, "But we're gonna have to tell your parents."

"Your kidding, right?"

"No, Riley I'm not," he said.

"You picked a bad time to be mature," I groaned leaning on him.

"Sorry," he laughed, "but we will need to tell them."

"Yeah, I know," I said.

Alex and I went back to hang out with our friends, down in the basement. Jack was begging Alex to play video games with him, while Rian and Zack were talking about a girl Zack just met that he really liked. I went and joined Zack and Rian's conversation, trying to shove the fact that Alex and I were going to tell my parents later.

"Whats her name?" I asked Zack.

"Kenna," he said.

"Kenna Robins?" I asked.

"Yeah," Zack said blushing.

"Aw, she is such a sweet girl," I said causing Zack to blush some more.

"Is she that short, Asian girl, with the short choppy hair? You know the one who was adopted?"

"That would be her," I said.

"She is so cool!" Rian said.

"Isn't she like super good at art?" I asked.

"Yeah, she is an amazing artist," Rian said, "she is in my art class."

"And our little Zacky likes her," I laughed.

"Shut up," Zack blushed.

"Does she like you?" Rian asked.

"Probably not," Zack sighed.

"Aw Zacky has a crush," I smiled, "on one of my friends."

"Shut up Ri," Zack said.

"What one?" Rian asked laughing.

"Both of you now," he sighed.

"I'm sorry Zack," I laughed.

"Sure you are," he said brushing the hair out of his face.

"I am," I said.

"I gotta get going," Rian said standing up.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"About 4:30. I gotta go help my mom with dinner, my aunt is coming over so everything has to be prefect," he said rolling his eyes.

"Alright," Zack said, "see ya at practice tomorrow.'

"Yeah, maybe I'll bring my cousin," he laughed.

"What cousin?" Zack asked.

"Leeann," he said heading up the stairs.

"Alright bye Rian!" Zack yelled.

"Bye Rian!" Jack and Alex yelled at the same time before gluing their eyes back to the t.v.
