SHH! There's a Killer in the House

Walking blindly through the woods is not something any sane person would do. Walking blindly through the woods with a badly twisted ankle is not something a normal, sane person would do. So why am I doing this? That’s right, Jace spilled Bryan’s plan for me. I did get lucky when I saw that door to the staircase or else I would be in Bryan’s room, doing God knows what.

I finally stopped limping when I saw a freshly fallen log over a little stream. Slowly I put my dirty feet into the water. It hurt so much! I moved slightly on the log when something cut me on my chest. What the heck….

THE RAZORS! I stashed the razors in my bra when I was changing to defend myself! How could I forget I put them there?! I pulled them out. I could cut the bottom of my dress and kind of make a support for my ankle!

Giggling, I began doing so. I feel like a frontier person, fending for myself. I broke my walking stick in fours after I cut three long strips off the bottom of my dress. Being careful, I wrapped the one strip around my ankle with two of the sticks on either side of my ankle. Then I somehow I got the other two to brace the back of my leg.

Finally I did it. It was so itchy! Why would it be? That’s just crazy. “Stupid high heels. Never will I become a freaking call-girl!”

“That’s good, the job doesn’t suit you,” someone said from behind me. My scream bounced off the trees. Birds jumped up into the sky, they are as scared as I am. A hand covered my mouth. “There isn’t any reason to scream, Heather, I’m not going to hurt you,” he whispered in my ear.

I knew that voice. It haunted my dreams and thoughts for the longest time. My eyes got wide. IT WAS PARKER! My ex-boyfriend that I was supposed to meet at the movies so long ago! I pulled the hand from my face, turning to look at him. “Parker?”

“Hey honey,” he smiled brightly at me before pulling me into a hug. “You smell real bad, Heather,” he chuckled into my ear. “And you don’t look that great either.”
