It's Hard to Say 'I Miss You.'

Quinn's Freak Out.

About a half hour later I heard the front the door open. I quickly whipped my face.
“Ugh. Lizzy?” Dan called.
“Yeah?” My voice cracked.
“Um. Quinn’s freaking out.” Oh boy.
“Coming.” I yelled, grabbing my purse, almost running into the house.

“Where were you?” Quinn yelled, after hugging me for what felt like forever, making sure I was really there.
“I went for a walk.”
“Where did you walk to? A bar? Cause, no offence Lizzy, you smell like a drunk.” Shit.

“Yeah, sorry. I should go shower. But I did go to a bar…” Yeah right.
“Liz. Drink? Since when?” Quinn questioned, his eye brows high in his head.
“No. Not to drink. To think. I knew nobody would go looking for me in there. Then I went for a walk, it was very weird sitting in there. Awkward.” I half smiled.

“Oh. Are you okay though?”
“Yeah.” I answered a bit too quickly.
“Okay. If you say so.”
“I’m fine. I’m going to go shower though.”
“Okay. Hurry up. We are leaving, so we can be there early.”
“Yes sir.” I laughed.

Once I was out of site the smile quickly faded. Just the thought of being there early, having to spend more time with Bert. He better keep his mouth shut. My eyes bugged at the thought. What if he tells someone? Great. You know sometimes I wish that I could be struck by lightening…
