Distance

Breathe Me.

It was us. It was me and it was her and it was our bodies moving together in the moonlight in the backseat of a parked car, and it was the most beautiful thing in the world.

She straddled me, careful of my injured nose as our lips met, and I felt my heart accelerate as her slim hands slipped down.

Everything blurred into shadows, marked with whispers and soft laughter. I know it wasn't our first time together, but I like to think of it as such. It was the first time I'd had her, and hadn't had to feel guilty over the fact that she belonged to someone else.

"Billie..."

I wasn't sure if she had gasped out my name at that moment, of if I was imagining things, but I buried my face in her neck and reveled in the feel of her skin against mine.

"Never leave me." I begged in a whispered plea.
"I won't, baby." She promised, kissing me gently in between each word. "I'll always be here for you, and you'll know that you've always got someone you can count on, for anything."

And then she picked up my wrist, kissed the inside and placed it on her shoulder.

"This is forever." She told me, tears in her eyes. "It's a forever kind of love and it's all we have."
