Tangled Hearts

[It’s Saturday June 7th. Becky is on the set of her new movie and it’s the last couple of days of shooting. After a long day of shooting she gets the okay to go back to the hotel to catch up on some sleep before the cycle repeats tomorrow. Before she gets off the set she is stopped by her fellow co-star Lauren Andrews.]

Lauren: (she says in a snobby tone) Becky there is like someone here to see you.
Becky: Umm okay.

[Lauren leaves and Jessie comes forth.]

Becky: Jessie?
Jessie: Umm hey.
Becky: Wow I’m just shocked to see you here.
Jessie: Well I told you I’d come to visit you.
Becky: Really? But aren’t you like really busy?
Jessie: Yeah but I made room.
Becky: You made room in your schedule for me? Now I feel kind of guilty.
Jessie: No don’t, it’s really not a big deal.
Becky: Oh okay, if you say so.
Jessie: But I also came to see you because we need to talk.
Becky: Alright.
Jessie: What was that?
Becky: What?
Jessie: (He looks off to the side) Nothing…never mind.
Becky: Okay.
Jessie: Maybe we should go somewhere more private.
Becky: Uh sure….where?
Jessie: (looks around him) Umm how about over here.

[He pulls her over to a room and closes the door behind them.]

Becky: Okay what was it you needed to talk about?
Jessie: Well It’s about Nick.
Becky: Oh.
Jessie: Well that day I saw you two I kind of figured he wasn’t happy to see me.
Becky: Yeah he told me everything.
Jessie: I hate this silence…we used to be such good friends. I’ve tried to talk to him but he won’t answer his phone and I’ve been too busy to try to see him in person. So I need your help.
Becky: What?
Jessie: Please you have to help. I really don’t know anyone else that could talk to him.
Becky: Okay, but what do I say to him.
Jessie: Tell him I’m sorry about this whole Miley mess and that I had no idea they were dating. Miley lied to me and told me she was single.
Becky: Miley lied to you?
Jessie: Yeah I can’t believe I fell for it too.
Becky: So it’s really all Miley’s fault?
Jessie: I guess you can say that. She did lie to both me and Nick.
Becky: See I don’t think Nick knows you had no idea they were dating.
Jessie: Yeah I figured he thought I was some low life who was ok with being the other man.
Becky: Well then if I told him Miley was the one who lied to both of you he might not be mad at you anymore.
Jessie: Really? You think that’s all that would take for him to forgive me?
Becky: Yeah I don’t see why not. Nick is very reasonable.
Jessie: Thanks Becky, I really appreciate this. I just couldn’t bear having him hate me.
Becky: No problem. I totally understand.
Jessie: So when do you think you’ll see him again?
Becky: I don’t know, maybe later this month after the movie is done.
Jessie: (Smiles) Okay.

[After their talk they hung out for a while and eventually Becky had to go to sleep so they said their goodbyes.]

Jessie: Well thanks.
Becky: For what?
Jessie: For being good company.
Becky: I should be thanking you. After all you did come all the way to see me. You’re such a good friend.
Jessie: Yeah… (says in a hesitant way)I’m a good friend.
Becky: Well I’ll talk to you later and hopefully I can help mend this mess.
Jessie: Alright bye.
Becky: Bye Jessie.

[Jessie gave her a hug, that was kinda very awkward, and they both departed. Becky then headed inside to her room. As she walked past the lobby Lauren called out to her.]

Lauren: Hey Becky wait up!
Becky: Yeah.
Lauren: What was that all about?
Becky: Oh nothing really.
Lauren: Nothing? It looked like something.
Becky: I really don’t know what you’re talking about.
Lauren: You and Jessie.
Becky: What? No me and Jessie are friends.
Lauren: Well he like so likes you.
Becky: No he doesn’t.
Lauren: Yes he like totally does. You should like get with him.
Becky: Uh no. I have a boyfriend.
Lauren: Please Jessie is like more boyfriend material than Nick will ever be.
Becky: No Nick is fine.
Lauren: Whatever does Nick make time in his schedule to come visit you all the way in Tucson?
Becky: It’s his job, it’s not his fault he is busy!
Lauren: Just think about it…
Becky: No I will not think about it!
Lauren: Fine it’s your loss, but personally I think Jessie is like so the better pick.
Becky: You’re wrong.
Lauren: We’ll see.

[Becky went up to her room furious, but by the time she was in bed it totally left her mind. Becky went to sleep that night feeling so bad for Jessie and how sorry he was. She hoped that Nick will be reasonable and will forgive Jessie. She was so overwhelmed by all her thinking she eventually drifted off to sleep.]

*In San Antonio with Becky*

[It’s Sunday June 15th, Becky is just getting back to San Antonio from Tucson, Arizona.]

Becky: I’m home!
Sarah: Hey Becky!

[Becky runs to hug her sister.]

Becky: My god it’s been forever.
Sarah: Not really, I just saw you at my graduation.
Becky: I know but still, I didn’t get to spend that much time with you. {Note: Becky came back to town for a couple days just to see her sister graduate. Then she headed back to Arizona to finish up the movie.}
Becky: It feels so good to be home.
Sarah: So how was Arizona?
Becky: One word…hot! Oh look I brought you a shirt.
Sarah: Oh wow thanks.
Becky; Are you being sarcastic?
Sarah: Maybe.
Becky: (rolls her eyes) Some things never change.

[Becky looks behind Sarah and her big booty to see her cousin Ceci.]

Becky: Ceci!
Ceci: Becky!

[Becky runs up to her cousin and gives her a deathly bear hug.]

Ceci: Ok ok too tight.
Becky: Sorry it’s just that I missed you.
Ceci: I missed you too.
Becky: So how did you do in school?
Ceci: Good, I got all A’s on the last report card.
{Note: Had to tell you guys that…I’m so proud of my smart little cousin ;)}
Becky: Wow that’s so good. It must run it the family
Ceci: Yup it sure does.
Ruth: How’s my little movie star?
Becky: Hi Mom.
Ruth: So how was Arizona?
Becky: Eh it’s alright…it’s too hot there. Where is dad?
Ruth: In the garage.
Becky: Okay.

[Becky goes in to the garage to find her dad ironing his pants.]

Becky: Hey dad, Happy Fathers Day!
Rick: Thank you.
Becky: I got you something.

[Becky hands her dad a wrapped gift. He opens it up to reveal a Beatles biography DVD.]

Rick: Alright! The Beatles…thanks Beck.
Becky: (smiles) Your welcome. So where are we going to eat?
Rick: We’re going to go to Cappareles.
Becky: Ooh sounds good.

[So they all went out to eat, and had a great time. Becky really enjoyed her time with her family and she especially enjoyed her tiramisu. They got home around 8 o’clock and Ceci stayed till 9.
After Ceci left Becky decides to 3 way Amy and Willi on the phone.]
Willi& Amy: Hello?
Becky: Hey guys it’s me!
Willi: Hey little one.
Amy: Yo Becky.
Becky: Guess what….I’m home!
Amy: Omg your back!
Becky: Yup we should hang out tomorrow
Willi: Or how about we fly to LA tomorrow.
Becky: But I just got home.
Amy: So I need to see my Kevin.
Becky: Can’t we just wait a while… I really miss San Antonio.
Willi: Okay… we’ll leave Tuesday.
Becky: What just one day!
Willi: Yup that’s plenty of time.
Becky: You guys are so mean.
Amy: Well I’ve waited 4 months to see Kevin, so don’t say I’m being mean.
Becky: Ugh so…I haven’t seen Nick since DC games. Please just wait 2 days at least.
Willi: Hmm no. I need to see Joe before that skank Chelsea Staub steals him.
Becky: She would not.
Willi: Oh yes she would!
Becky: Fine! We’ll leave Tuesday, but you guys owe me.
Amy: Oh come on, you totally want to see Nick anyways.
Becky: Yeah…but-
Willi: (cuts her off) Then it’s settled, we leave Tuesday.
Amy: Oh my god I can’t wait to see Kevin…he is so amazing.
Willi: No Joe is amazing.
Amy: No Kevin.
Willi: No Joe.
Amy: No Joe…I mean Kevin.
Becky: Ooh you walked into that Amy.
Willi: What! Are you trying to still my man Amy?
Amy: Grr no! I can’t believe you made me say that.
Willi: Whatever that’s what you get for making me say that Kevin was hot.
Amy: Ha-ha I’ll never forget that day.
Becky: So what are we going to do tomorrow?
Amy: I don’t know.
Willi: We should hang out with Kim.
Becky: We should…I miss her.
Willi: Why don’t we hit up the mall? So we can get new clothes before we go to LA.
Amy: But I’m a little low in the bank.
Becky: It’s okay Amy I’ll cover some of your bill.
Amy: You would really do that for me?
Becky: Yeah it’s no prob.
Willi: Well Becky can you afford La Cantara?
Becky: What? Why are we going to that mall?
Willi: Because they have a Pac sun.
Amy: So other malls have a Pac sun.
Willi: But those are lame malls.
Becky: She’s got a point.
Amy: Ok, but someone has to give me a ride all the way out there.
Willi: Chill, I’ll take you guys.
Becky: Okay…don’t forget Kim too.
Willi: How can I forget Kim?
Amy: Well I gotta go, so I’ll see you guys tomorrow.
Becky: Okay…bye guys.
Willi: Bye little one, bye Amy.

[Becky hangs up and takes a shower. It felt good to be at home again. She then gets ready for bed. She puts on her Nick is a stud muffin tee and some pj bottoms. She sits in bed and starts to read her summer reading book My Name is Asher Lev. After a couple of pages she gets a text message. She smiles big when she finds out it’s from Nick.

Becky’s mood was totally enlightened by Nick. She continued to read her book but she couldn’t concentrate. She kept thinking of Nick, and his lovable smile. She tried to go to sleep but her mind wandered. Eventually it was 10:39[pm] she grabbed her Zune and put her headphones in. She left it on shuffle and the first song that played was Hello Beautiful by the Jonas Brothers. She listened to Nick’s soft voice. When the song ended she was about to turn it off when Dare You to Move by Switchfoot came on.]

Becky: (thinks to herself) Ok it’s just a coincidence that these songs have to do with Nick.

[When that song ended; Becky hoped that the next song was something random but it ended up being Jackson by Johnny Cash.]

Becky: Ok if the next song has to do with Nick, then it might mean something.

[She clicks to the next song. When the song came up, Becky was oh so puzzled. It was Leavin’ by Jesse McCartney.]

Becky: Ok… I’m just not going to bed.

[She puts her Zune away and goes to sleep. It only takes her 10 minutes to fall into a slumber. She awakes in the morning around 9 o’clock. The first thing she does is straightens her hair and picks out an outfit. She eats some organic toaster strudels, and starts to pick up where she had last stopped in her book. Before she knows it she had been reading till 11:11 a.m. All the sudden her phone began to ring That Girl by NLT. The caller ID said Willi. She quickly answers.]

Becky: Hola Cola!
Willi: Yo mig… are you ready?
Becky: We’re leaving now?
Willi: Yeah… are you ready?
Becky: Yeah I’m ready.
Willi: Ok I’m coming to get you.
Becky: Ok see ya in a few.
Willi: Bye

[Sure enough Willi’s mom came by to give Becky a ride. Amy was already in the car. Then they left to pick up Kimbo. Finally, they head to La Cantara. Once they get there, they head straight to Pac Sun.]

Kim: Ooh this is so freakin sweet.
Becky: Hey would this impress Nick? (She holds up a dress)
Kim: Heck yeah… I want it for myself.
Becky: Too bad, I’m buying it.
Kim: Grr you Star Wars Chewbacca muffin eater.
Amy: Ok which one will impress Kevin more? (She holds up two blouses.)
Willi: Well…
Amy: Willi don’t say any comments about Kevin.
Willi: Ok ok… I think that one is better.
Amy: Really? I think so too.

[They buy some clothes and head to Buckle, Dillard’s, then to Nordstrom.]

Amy: Ooh look, this shirt is the same color as Kevin’s eyes.
Becky: Ok Amy… can you say stalker?
Amy: Ok just hush up.
Willi: Dude I think I almost spent all my money.
Becky: Well you bought the whole store practically.
Willi: But it’s all for Joe.
Kim: Ooh this dress reminds me of a chalupa.
Becky: Ok… how?
Kim: Well don’t you see… the colors and the designs.
Willi: Just smile and nod Becky.
Kim: Hey don’t hate me because of my talented skills for decoding clothes to represent food.
Amy: Umm Kim… has anyone told you that you’re strange?
Kim: Yeah I get that a lot… but that’s what makes me unique like pastries.
Becky: Pastries?
Kim: Yup… they’re so good.
Becky: Ok… random.

[All the sudden Becky’s cell starts to ring Hello Beautiful.]

Becky: (answers quickly) Hey Nick.
Nick: Hey Becky… what are you doing?
Becky: Oh I’m here with Willi, Amy, and my friend Kim at La Cantara.
Nick: That’s cool.
Becky: So what are you doing?
Nick: Oh you know, just hanging out with my brothers.

[Amy was in the background being loud as usual.]

Amy: I want to go to Buckle!
Nick: Who’s that in the background?
Becky: Oh that’s Amy… um hold on really quick.
Nick: Ok?
Becky: Amy we already went to Buckle.
Amy: Well let’s go again.
Becky: Fine we’ll go to Buckle.
[Nick still heard the conversation even though Becky never meant for him to hear it.]

Becky: Ok I’m back.
Nick: (laughs)
Becky: What’s so funny?
Nick: Nothing.
Becky: Um ok…
Nick: Ok well I gotta go.
Becky: Alright bye Nick.
Nick: Bye.

[She hangs up the phone. After they make their final purchases at Nordstrom’s, they go back to Buckle.]

Willi: So why did you want to come back?
Amy: I saw a shirt I wanted.
Becky: How much is it?
Amy: It’s over here (She looks at the price) Um never mind.
Becky: Ok listen how about you don’t say a thing about Kevin for the rest of the day and I’ll buy it for you.
Amy: Ok deal.
Kim: That’s a mean deal.
Becky: What? Well I know it’s a lot of money, so I might get something out of it.
Willi: Hey Kimbo are you going to come to LA with us this time.
Kim: Umm I don’t know it’s a lot of money.
Becky: Don’t worry I’ll pay for you.
Kim: Becky you keep buying everyone stuff.
Becky: Hey it’s no problem.
Kim: Are you sure?
Becky: Yeah that movie paid well.
Kim: Well I guess I’ll ask my mom.
Willi: Will your mom let you go?
Kim: Who knows?

[Once again Becky’s cell rings again.]

Becky: Hello Nick?
Nick: Hey guess what?
Becky: What?
Nick: Turn around.
Becky What!?
Nick: Just do it.

[Becky slowly turns around. Her eyes lit up wide and she screams.]

Becky: Oh my god Nick!

[She runs up to him and hugs him tight.]

Becky: How are you here?
Nick: We flew in, we wanted to surprise you all.
Becky: Well you did.

[Next thing Becky hears is Amy screaming.]

Amy: KEVIN!
Kevin: Hey Amy it’s-
Amy : (cuts him off) Oh my god, I’ve missed you.

[She runs up to him, causing him to almost fall over. She latches on to him like a rope and squeezes him tight kind of like a python.]

Kevin: Um it’s nice to see you too Amy.
Amy: It’s been so long.
Kevin: Yeah, but I told you we’ll see each other again.
Amy: Yeah, but still it was a pretty long wait.
Joe: Hey Willi.
Willi: Hey Joe.

[He gives her a huge hug.]

Joe: You look amazing.
Willi: (smiles) Thanks, so how are here? I mean we were going to go to LA to see you guys.
Joe: Well is looks like we beat you girls to the punch.
Willi: Yeah you did.
Amy: I don’t get how you knew where we were.
Nick: Well I called Becky and she said she was at La Cantara, then I heard Amy in the background saying she wanted to go to Buckle.
So it was the first place we looked and guess what? We found you guys.
Becky: Oh so that’s why you asked what I was doing?
Nick: Yup and you never suspected a thing.
Becky: Man your good.
Joe: Hey you got to give me some credit. I came up with the idea of flying over here.
Kevin: Yeah but I’m the one who drove you guys from the airport to here.
Willi: Ok well you all get credit. Ok so it’s settled.
Becky: Oh by the way I want you guys to meet my friend Kim. Kim this is Nick, Joe and Kevin.
Kim: Hi it’s nice to meet all of you.
Jo Bros: You too.

[Nick looks down and sees the girls carrying a lot of bags.]

Nick: (to Becky) So I see you’ve been shopping.
Becky: Yeah, I missed shopping in San Antonio.
Nick: So what did you get?
Becky: I can’t tell you, it’s a surprise.
Nick: Why not.
Becky: Because I can’t reveal my outfits. Where’s the fun in that?
Nick: Fine. (He pulls her close to him) I’ll get it out of you one way or another.
Becky: That’s what you think, but I’m as sturdy as a rock.
Nick: (smiles) We’ll see.

[All of them head to the food court and sit down.]

Willi: So are you guys staying the night in San Antonio?
Joe: Yeah we’re staying at The Westin downtown.
Kim: Isn’t that on the other side of town.
Kevin: Hey it’s ok I don’t mind driving from here to there. For Amy I’ll drive anywhere.
Amy: Really Kevin?
Kevin: Yup.
Amy: I would do the same thing for you if I knew how to drive.
Kevin: Uh…thanks (smiles)
Joe: And I would make Kevin drive me anywhere for you Willi.
Willi: (laughs lightly) I guess I’ll take that as a compliment.
Kevin: Oh Joe, seriously when are you gonna learn to drive.
Joe: I already know how to drive. And I’m going to get my license hopefully next month.
Kevin: You can’t drive well though.
Joe: I sure can.
Kevin: Oh really? Willi would you ever get in the car, if Joe was driving?

[They all turn to hear Willi’s answer.]

Willi:Umm…no offense Joe but I wouldn’t risk my life.

[Everyone starts to laugh.]

Joe: Ouch! No offense but that was offensive, but you seriously wouldn’t?
Willi: Uh Yeah I know how accident pro you are.
Joe: Ok guys why do you all think just cause I’m kinda klutzy that I would be a bad driver.
Nick: Well we don’t call you Danger for nothing.
Joe: Whatever, I’ll get better.
Willi: Sure.
Joe: What? I will. So what about you Becky, would you ever get in a car with Nick?
Becky: Hmm… you know I think I would.
Nick: Ha in your face Joe.
Joe: What why? He doesn’t even know how to drive.
Becky: Well because for one thing he’s not you Joe.
Joe: Well thanks Becky.
Becky: You’re welcome.
[The boys went to order food for the girls. While the girls sat at the table.]

Amy: Don’t you love-
Becky: 68 Dollars?
Amy: Oh yeah.
Willi: Man I wish I was clever enough to come up with that bet. I’ve been trying forever to get Amy to shut up.
Amy: Umm excuse me Willi?
Willi: What I have.
Kim: You guys are so lucky, I wish I had a Jo Bro.
Becky: But you have Menchaca.
Kim: I know, but still.
Willi: Well you better not steal one of ours.
Kim: Maybe I will.
Amy: What you better not!
Kim: I’m just joking. But what I was going to say is that I think Nick is a great guy, and I approve of him for you Becky.
Becky: Uh thanks.
Kim: Yeah that’s right, thank the legendary Kimbo!
Willi: Like I said just smile and nod.

[They all laugh.]

Kim: Hey hey hey! Don’t judge my awesome skills.
Amy: Whatever you say Kim.

[The guys come back with the flavorsome food. They all eat and chill. Amy was so happy to see Kevin again she didn’t pay much attention to anyone else. Joe and Willi talked softly among themselves. Joe kept telling Willi how much he missed her. Nick and Becky couldn’t take their eyes off each other. Kim kinda felt a little awkward but was also amused by everyone being flirtatious. When they finished they decide to head to guys hotel. On the way to the car Kim bumps in to J.T. She then ends up leaving with him. They then pile into the rent a car and Kevin got behind the wheel and then they were off.]
