I'm Not Crazy.

Chapter 5

Yana layed there that night. For the first time in a while, she was bored. Her mind had no imaginative and insane things to entertain her with. She finally felt sane. She knew all along that she wasn't crazy. Just..a little off. She forgot how to speak for awhile, but, she could now, and that's all that mattered. Out of all the nurse's here, only one mattered. Damn, that woman was beautiful, smart, and everything to her. She couldn't stop thinking about her. Every thought was about Constance. She couldn't help but think of the L word. No. She thought. Not right now. You can't fall in love.All of a sudden, the large door swung open and Constance stood at the door. "Hey, you're awake." she mumbled. Constance sat on the bed and hugged the patient. She muffled her sobs. Wait. Hasn't Yana been the one to cry and Constance comfort her? It's the other way around. She cried into the patient's shoulder, soaking her shirt material. "Yana," she started, "I went into the record room and-and I saw your record.." Yana froze. "Why'd you do it?!" Constance sobbed. Yana rubbed her back. "I didn't. They've got it all wrong. I never did anything!" Yana yelled. Constance sat straight and took a piece of paper from her pocket. "Then explain this." Constance ordered, unfolding the paper and giving it to Yana. It read;

Yana D. Hill was sent to the Psychiatric Ward on September 12, 2008. Earlier that day on the 12th, Police say there was an attempted homicide in the home of her single parent, Angela Hill and, her younger Brother, Quinton Hill. Neighbors say they heard a scream come from the home and they immediately called 911. When the enforcement got there, the mother and brother were crying and, the daughter could be heard, screaming upstairs. The police called the ward and, they sent two nurse's to get the daughter. They say, she will be getting out on November 3, 2008. Words on the mother's recent state are unknown.

Yana closed her eyes and put the paper down as Constance cried into her shoulder. "Like I said, I didn't do it." Yana said, sternly. "Then, tell me the truth. What really happened?" Constance asked. Yana opened her eyes. "That day, was rough for me. My father never showed up to take my brother and I to the football game. When I got home, I was already mad, and my mom was talking about how we didn't have enough money for food and rent and I just exploded. I yelled at my mom, I slapped my brother, and I stormed upstairs. I turned the screamo way loud. Those are the screams that the neighbors heard. My mom was crying because I wouldn't listen to her. The police have got it all wrong." At this time, Yana was sobbing, as Constance rubbed her back. "Shh..I'm sorry I didn't believe you." The nurse said. They laid on the bed together. "It's November 1st. You'll be going back in two days." Constance whispered. Yana cried again. "Wait. I thought you would want to go back." Yana continued to cry. "I don't want to leave you.'' And that's when Constance realized, she never wanted to leave Yana.
