Just When You Think You Know Everything

Mia's P.O.V.

The Next Day

I was walking down the hall headed towards my locker, when suddenly my view of the world

drastically changed. One minute I was looking at the dreary walls of Newport High, and the next I was

cozy with the tile floor. I thought I had just tripped, but when I started to get up, someone's foot pushed

me back down. I turned my head to the side and saw what appeared to be a Nike Shox on my clean

shirt. Well, let me tell ya, this kinda ticked me off. So I turned my head to give this jerk a piece of my

mind. "Get your foot off me before I removed it myself!"

He just laughed. So I grabbed his foot and twisted, hard. He hit the ground beside me like a sack of

potatoes, and just lay there. You would think his friends would help him up, but they were too busy rolling

on the ground, laughing their pretty faces off.

Just as I started to get up, AGAIN, I noticed a small white hand in front of my face. Warily i looked up

and saw that it was the boy from my homeroom class. I took his hand and he helped me up. I bent to get

my backpack, but it wasn't there, that's when I started to get mad.

"Where is my backpack?" I said, looking around.

"Those airheads must have taken it," he said, glancing at my face. "I'll get it for you."

I was about to object, but he was already gone. I watched him walk over to the whining jerk and ask

him something. Probably where my stuff went. I looked on as my "hero" waltzed over to a nearby

garbage can and dug in. Less than a second later, he smiled as he pulled a black,purple,and pink

backpack out of the smelly receptacle.

"Thank you! I can't believe they would do that,"I said smiling.

He smiled back and said,"That's Nathan and his goons. They love to torture people. My name's

Michael Way, but you can call me Mikey."

"It's nice to meet you,Mikey. My name is Amelia Stuart, or Mia for short."
