When Friday came, Serena waved to Zane as he walked off to meet Jay. She really hoped he had been speaking the truth earlier.
As soon as Zane was out of view, there was a knock on the door. Serena jumped to her feet and scurried to the door. Who on earth could it be?
"Hi, Serena!"
"Cherry?" Serena was completely baffled. "Where did you go?"
"I've been around, you know? So...You wanna do something?"
She had no chance to reply as Cherry dragged her out to the car parked in the driveway. Cherry drove them to a small smoothie shop.
"So what do you want?" she asked as she pulled into the drive thru.
"Whatever you get?"
"Okay!"
After getting their smoothies, they just ate in the car.
"What's in this?" Serena asked, feeling a bit light headed. Was alcohol in it?
"What do you mean? Mine is fine!" Cherry told her, a smile plastered to her face.
"I...Cherry?"
"By the way, it's your own damn fault, Serena," she told her, laughing as Serena slipped into unconsciousness.
The last thing to go through her head was Zane. He had better be okay.
