Before I Forget

I look at my phone and see "Mom." across the screen. I sigh and pick up my phone, I hear my mom's soft voice say "Hello, sweetheart" I smile and say "Hey Mom" I hear her pause and say "Guess what?" I roll my eyes, I can tell by the tone of her voice it's something along the lines of 'I got a new boyfriend' but I shake my head and say "What is it mom?" in a semi annoyed tone. "I got a new boyfriend!" she practically squeals. I roll my eyes but say "Oh, Congrats! Mom, I'm happy for you!" in a mock happy tone, thank god she doesn't catch onto it. "I know! I'm sorry to cut you off sweetheart but I have to go now, I love you!" I sigh and hear her hang up the phone before I can answer. I mumble to myself "...love you too, mom."

I sigh once more this is going to end up all wrong like always, something always gets messed up. Sure right know I sound negative, but ever since my father passed on my mother has a new boyfriend every other week. I mean its not that she is a slut but she is broken hearted, and what can my fifteen year old self do sadly nothing she needs a man to fill in the empty gap in her life. I admit I wish I had a father still, I miss a father figure but I want MY father back I miss him..but to make my mother happy I'll let this man come into my life even if its for a week...
