They Don't Know About Us

The Truth:
Astaria and me, were more than just friends.
The Truth:
It has been at least two years since I last saw her.
The Truth:
The video she gave me is so worn out from being watched so
many times that you can't even play it anymore.
The Truth:
Breakaway is on repeat on my I-pod indefinitely.
The Truth:
Right now, I, Shaen Bloomingfield, am at a concert for a newly
signed band called Not Even , from Chicago, and I think I just
saw her.
So now, I'm Freaking Out.
I mean, seriously, I just saw her. I was in front of the mosh pit.I got out a mini version of the picture. The original was in an art museum. It had won many awards. So, i got out the miniature credit card sized copy.It had my name, and phone number. i was in front of the stage right next to the bassist , who I thinks name is Adonai. I think he saw me but you never know during concerts. I saw a little bit of recognitionin his eyes.He said, "Hi," to me during the intermission, but not much else.I gave him the card and asked him to show it to everyone on tour. I figured even though i asked him personally, he'd forget.
Boy, was I wrong.
Barely a day after the concert, i got a call.
"How did you find me, Shaen?"
"I was at the concert yesterday and saw you before the show,
Astaria."
"It's Star now,you know."
"Not to me."
"Yeah I know.Do you want to meet me at star bucks or
something?"
"Sure. Are you still in San Fran?"
"Yeah, meet me at the Star bucks on Market."
" K, I'll be there in twenty minutes.
and she hung up on me. I grabbed my keys and my wallet and left. It took me a lot longer than I had expected. There was a ten minute wait for the next train and then there was a slight delay. When I finally got to Star bucks, it had been forty minutes since the call. Double the time I had said.Astaria was just walking out the door. She always knew when I'd be late. She stopped as soon as she saw me and handed me the iced chai latte she had ordered when i didn't turn up on time. We went inside and sat at a table in the back. It was silent for a while and then she was shooting out questions faster than a sniper gun shoots bullets.most of them were about Stevie and Veronica, and me. there were a few about the others. When i finally answered all of them and asked a few of my own our drinks were gone.I decided that I would pay for this set. She got a Vanilla Bean Latte and i got a Hot Chai Latte, to balance out the chills. The first question I asked was ,
"Why did you just take off like that?I was going to propose right after the
graduation ceremony."
"I needed to leave. My parents were getting worse. Wait, What?
You were going to propose?
"Yeah."
"Sorry."
"I'm sure you are. Anyway, how have you been doing lately?"
"Well, I manage and am friends with Not Even and i have a fiance named Addie."
"Do you mean Addie, like Adonai from the band?"
"Yeah, he's the on that showed me the card you gave him. "
We went on like this for a while, firing questions back and forth.By the end we just decided that we shouldn't talk to each other, it was too painful. She had a fiance and I have a boyfriend named Oliver. With that she left like a whirlwind and I never saw her again. Until 10 years later. At her Funeral.
