Everyone See's Her, But Nobody Knows

How it all began.

It was one notebook. An ordinary notebook, purchased at Wal-Mart with a blue cover and exactly one hundred striped pages for me to vent on. The thought absolutely thrilled me when I bought it, as it always does when I buy a new notebook because it opens up a world of possibilities for me to write whatever I want.

How was I supposed to know my life would get so complicated? Of course through the past year I would want to vent and there was my notebook, waiting. Causing me more drama, than I would ever want or need.

It’s the reason I'm here, in this little white room that smelled of old coffee and febreeze. Water stained magazines and empty paper cups sat along the table top directly in front of me. The couch I was sitting on was old and scratchy, and the plants were plastic. The receptionist watched as I snapped the elastic around my wrist and braided my hair, then unbraided it again. Something I've always done to relieve stress, besides writing.

"Excuse me, miss are you Adrienne Cadenza?" The receptionist asked. I rolled my eyes and nodded. "Your wanted in Doctor Arlington's office."

I sighed, standing up and pushing my pink flowy shirt down, following the woman down a long hallway towards an oak door. With one last smile, the lady left me and I stood in front of the door, peaking in since it was partly open.

"Come in Adrienne." A voice said. I entered the office and was greeted by the scent of lavender. The room was light purple and only had two chairs, one overly stuffed white leather recliner and another small black one which the psychiatrist sat on.

"Please, sit." She ordered. I made my way to the chair slowly, hating the fact I ever wrote in that notebook and hating the fact my mother looked at it without my permission. My life was my business and what I wrote was…personal.

"Let's talk about why you’re here."

"You already know why, my mother found a notebook." She nodded her head and looked at her clipboard.

"Why do you think she sent you here after seeing it?" I was already annoyed. It was as I have said before, my business, and this lady is not going to get it out of me to analyze.

"It doest matter what was in it, I don’t think its any of your business."

"Well it has obviously worried your mother, do you want your mother to be worried?"

"She wouldnt be worried if she hadn’t invaded my personal space without permission, and decided to read my thoughts. Just for that I don’t care at all how she feels." I said angrily. Doctor Arlington nodded again and began to write.

"Well obviously your life has been complicated because you wrote all your thoughts in a notebook, and you needed to vent. That's actually a very good thing to do when your stressed, but lets talk about why your stressed." I sighed and leaned back.

"I already said I don’t want to." Doctor Arlington leaned forward and smiled brightly.

"I know you don’t want me knowing your business, but just know what you say will never leave this room. Not to anyone, nobody but us has to know. Your safe here, from everything your trying to get away from through your writing." I stared at her, my blue eyes digging into her green ones and let the small war go on in my mind as if weather she was being truthful or not. I took a deep breath and nodded.

"Okay, so lets start shall we? How did this all start?" She asked. I opened my mouth and thought back.

"Have you ever heard of the Jonas Brothers?"
