Midnight in The Big Apple

The Beginning of the End

"Goodnight, Abby," Sean said with a smile on his face. He couldn't take his eyes off of hers for even a second. They were almost hypnotizing. He didn't want to leave her for even a minute. But every good night has to come to an end sometime.
"Good night, Sean. I'll miss you while I'm in New Jersey."
"Just know that you will come back, and the second you do, we are spending an entire day together."
"Of course, anything you want." Her smile seemed to light up the night.
"Anything?"
"Except that."
"Darn it." He only pretended to be disappointed.
"You know I love you."
"Yeah, and that's the thing that I love the most about you, Abby."
Their lips met for just a second. And that second turned into what seemed like an eternity.
"Sean, I have to go." She said while pulling away.
"Okay, I'll see you soon. I love you." His smile only dropped a slight inch.
"I love you too."
She turned down and started walking down the steps. Headlights flashed as the dark car flew over the curb. The ear splitting scream was drowned out by the crash.
"ABBY!"
