Gustav- Another Katrina

Day 2

Well, the first night without power was just as I had predicted. Hot and stuffy even with a generator, you still have to use the fuel in sparing amounts. So we would run the generator long enough for the living room to cool down and for us to watch a movie or to check the radar on the internet, then the generator was turned off which turned the entire house into a sauna. Well, when the storm first knocked out our power, I was sleeping in my room so it got to hot that I had to move into the living room where there is a fan. Since the power went out, all we have to eat is ham sandwiches which will soon become old. Hopefully, the power comes on because when our power went out so did our water so until we have power we don't have any water. That means me and my entire family stink because we haven't had a shower for at least two days. But the only good thing is that because we are in the disaster area, school is closed until further notice.

We will soon have to make up those days so I don't think I am that lucky.
