The year is 1974, the setting is Venice, California.

Dogtown.

The ghetto by the sea.

Otherwise known as paradise to Jayboy Adams, Stacy Peralta, and Tony Alva.

When the boys form a connection with Skip Engblom, the volatile owner of Zephyr Surf Shop, and make it onto his skate team, they start to taste fame.

As they go from the streets to the stadiums, will their friendships survive?
