I'm Not a Monster, I'm Just Ahead of the Curve
"You're A Monster!"
The sound of maniacal laughing woke up me up. As I opened my eyes, I caught site of handcuffs on my wrists. "What the hell?!" I exclaimed. "Beautiful, you're awake!" the Joker said, obviously happy that I had woken up. "Yeah, but you've got to seriously stop knocking me out" I said, before biting my lip after that. The Joker had jumped on top of me and was smiling at me with that cruel smile. "One thing beautiful, I say what I can and can't do. Not you" he said, licking his lips. His knife was in his hand and his purple coat rested on a chair. He started to cut my shirt off of me, causing me to struggle. "Now, now beautiful, don't struggle, otherwise I just might cut you" he said, licking his scars. I tried to hit him, but that's kinda hard to do with handcuffs. The Joker just laughed at my attempts before plunging his knife into my stomach. I gasped as he started to carve words into my stomach.
Once I started to cry, the Joker looked pleased before throwing me off the bed. My wrists were bruised and one I could swear was broken. He smiled at me before kicking me in my stomach, than hitting me in the chest. He laughed uncontrollably as I coughed up blood and stared at him. The Joker didn't once let up until he saw me curl up in a fetal position. He grabbed me by my hair and threw me into the bathroom, before locking the door. "You should clean up beautiful" he said, laughing after he spoke. I shakily stood and saw the words. 'Let's Put A Smile On That Face' carved into my stomach. My face now harbored a nasty bruise and my wrist were a nasty purple. I sighed and stepped in the shower. I quickly bathed as best as I could before getting out. Seeing clothes put out for me, I quickly put them on as the door was unlocked. When the door opened, I saw the Joker standing there with an unreadable expression on his face.
He outstretched his arms, as if for a hug. "Come here beautiful" he said to me. I looked at him cautiously. "COME HERE!" he bellowed, causing me to jump and run into his arms. The Joker embraced me and we stayed like that for awhile. "You look so pretty when you cry" he whispered to me. I took a deep breath and inhaled the scent of gunpowder, gasoline, fire, and something else. It was an intoxicating smell and because of it, I hadn't realized that the Joker had placed me on the bed. I looked at him, not understanding what he was doing, not understanding the change in personality. Just when I thought that he wouldn't hurt me anymore, his cruel smile crept onto his face. The madness reached his eyes and my eyes widened. "Beautiful, you're so much fun" he said before kicking me off the bed and then skipping out of the room.
I laid on the floor, asking myself what had I done to deserve this. Inside, I regretted the fact that I just had to be so curious as to who lived next to me. 'Oh who am I kidding? It's the Joker. He would've come and paid me a 'visit' even if I didn't snoop' I thought bitterly. "YOU’RE A MONSTER!" I screamed out to the Joker, knowing he would hear me. The sound of the door being smashed open and footsteps pounding on the floor like thunder reached me before the Joker came into sight. As he did, I noticed the knife in his hand. "I'm not a monster, I'm just ahead of the curve" he said. All his anger was drenching his words and in that moment, I regretted what I had said. He plunged his knife into my ankle, causing me to scream. His giggles cut through my screams as he engraved a 'J' on the ankle. Once he was finished, the Joker met my eyes. "Now, beautiful, your, uh, words, they hurt me" he said, smacking and licking his lips. He opened his arms once more, and the knife in his hand plus the look in his eyes was enough to make me comply.
After being thrown into the wall, he left again. This time, I thought about how no one seemed to be looking for me. No one cared enough to look. 'What of Bruce?' I thought. 'He wouldn't care. He has his own troubles to deal with' I argued. The door opened, causing me to jump and look at the person at the door. It was the new Dopey, except he wasn't wearing his mask. "He really did a number, didn't he?" asked Dopey. I nodded and watched with caution as he approached me. "I won't hurt you. I can't, boss's orders" he said. "Why do you work for him?" I asked. "Have you listened to the man? He makes a ton of sense. What about you, why do you work for him?" he asked. My eyes hardened into a glare that stopped Dopey in his tracks. "I didn't get a choice" I said. "You were snooping. Be grateful he didn't kill you. He killed my family" said Dopey.
I looked at him in shock. "Why work for him?" I said, not understanding him. "I hated my family" he said to me. The Joker walked into the room, followed by Happy, Grumpy, and Chuckles. "Oh beautiful. It's time to go play. So go get ready" he said to me. I stood up and held my hands out. "Can I be un-cuffed?" I asked. "Can you behave like a good lit-tle girl?" asked the Joker. I smiled and nodded, though the smile was forced. It seemed good enough for the Joker. "Good! Happy, go un-cuff her" said the Joker. Happy did as he was told and I headed to the bathroom to get ready. After I was ready, the Joker dragged me to the van. "Where are we going?" I asked. The Joker seemed to be in a good mood because he actually answered, not hit me. "Funeral service" he said, giggling afterwards.
I sat in the van between the Joker and the new Chuckles as the new Grumpy was driving. All the times where I was thrown around had caused me to learn how to deal with the high speeds that the Joker tended to drive in. The Joker was watching me as I managed to not be thrown around. We finally stopped and after I climbed out, I was pulled aside. "We're going to go ahead. You stay here, and don't do anything stupid" said the Joker. "What could I possibly do?" I asked. "We-ll, because you'll be the one driving, you could try to leave me" said the Joker, putting on a pout. 'In his own twisted way, he actually looks cute…wait, where the hell did that thought come from?' I thought. I couldn't stop myself from laughing, causing the goons to turn to me and the Joker to be taken by surprise. Once I finished, I looked around. "What?" I asked. "You never laughed before" said Happy. I was about to question when he took off his mask. It was the same guy from when I met them. I smiled and the Joker looked giddy. "Oh beautiful, you know how to make me happy" he said before taking off.
Parking the van in a non-noticeable spot, I sat and waited for the guys. The sound of gunshots met my ears and I scanned the area, worried that one of the guys got hurt. I smiled when I saw all the guys run back to the van. Once they were all in, I sped away from the scene. Everyone was silent and I could tell that the Joker was fuming. "What happened?" I asked. "We didn't kill the mayor" said Dopey. That was when I realized that Chuckles was missing. "What happened to Chuckles?" I asked. "He got caught" answered Happy. I didn't notice that the Joker had opened my door and was about to throw me out. "Nothing personal beautiful" he said before throwing me out of the door of the van. I landed on the ground in pain as the van sped away.
*The Joker's POV*
Keira's laugh replayed over in my head. It was distracting and I didn't like it. I didn't like how she made me feel after she smiled. I'm not supposed to feel anything for anyone, nothing and this one girl has made me feel things I haven't felt in forever. I growled as I drove back to the hideout. None of the boys spoke, they knew better. As I stormed up the stairs to my room, I heard one of the guys talk. "What's his problem?" asked Dopey. I rolled my eyes and shot Dopey before heading into my room.
Once I was in my room, images of Keira seemed to appear, fueling my anger. In my anger, I had trashed my room. Tables were thrown into walls, glass was shattered, pillows and sheets had seen better days, a chair was thrown through my window. After I calmed down, I stood in front of the window, coming to a conclusion. Keira was becoming an obsession to me and I didn't want anyone to take her from me. I wanted to twist her, break her, hear her scream in pain, I wanted to scar her. 'She belongs to no one but me. She is my toy and I'm not done with my fun' I thought as I let out a loud laugh. 'Beautiful, you're safe for now, but the fun isn't over yet. Oh no, it's just begun'
