Booze, Boys, and Buses

Chapter Fifteen

I walked with Matt down to the beach. He waved to Jimmy as Jimmy jogged in his direction. I smiled for just the sake of being there. My happy mood was soon crushed when Valary walked over. She looked Matt up and down.

“Hey.” She said, smiling at him. “So you two are official now?” She didn’t even look at me. It was like she wanted to completely shut me out of the picture.

“Yeah.” He said, tightening his grip around my hand. I believed to myself that this was to remind me that he was going to be there for me all the time.

“I’m going to run to the bathroom to change into my bikini.” I said, giving Matt a peck and walking off. Don’t get me wrong, I trusted him, but I needed a second pair of eyes. I walked over to Kacie. “Keep an eye on her for me?” I asked, eyeing Val.

“Yeah of course.” She said, knowing thankfully just what I meant without having to point it out for her.

Kacie’s POV

After Cassie left, I did just as I was told and sat far enough away from them so I didn’t look suspicious, but I was close enough to hear them.

“I really like her.” Matt said; I imagined him shifting from being uneasy.

“I know you do. I’m happy for you.” She said, knowing that she didn’t mean it. “What happened between us?” She asked after a moment of them saying nothing.

“Uh, you cheated on me.” He reminded her.

“Yeah, but what led me to cheat on you?” She asked, and I imagined her putting a hand on his chest. “You’re perfect. You’re nice, caring, good looking, and great in bed.”

“Val, where is this going?” Matt asked, definitely uneasy now.

“Travis and I broke up. It just wasn’t working out.” She said, a hint of sadness falling over her words.

“I’m sorry.” Matt said, really not being all that sorry.

“I need a place to stay.”

“Did you ask Michelle?” He asked, making a very valid point.

“No. But I was sort of planning on you being single.”

“Well, I’m not.” He said, I could hear him beginning to walk off.

“Matt please.” She said, I turned around.

She was completely pressed against him. I then saw Cassie walking back from the bathrooms. This wasn’t going to go over well.

Cassandra’s POV

While I was walking back toward the beach, I saw Val dangerously close to Matt. I just walked over and coughed. Val glared at me slightly and then backed away from him. I grinned sarcastically at her, but then took Matt’s hand in mine.

“Time to open presents!” Johnny called, waving his hands in the air over near the tent. Everyone went over and sat down in one of the many lawn chairs under the shady spot.

“Shit. The present.” I said, looking around for ours.

“I’ll go get it.” Matt said, jogging off to the hummer.

“Have you guys had sex yet?” Val whispered to me.

“No, I want to wait until I’m ready.” I told her, becoming a little uneasy by how close she was to me.

She chuckled and then continued. “Well, he’s a rock star. Drugs, sex and rock
‘n roll. It’s the way things go. Seriously, how do you think all these other girls stayed with their guys? They all had sex with their man on the first night.”

“Oh. I’ll keep that in mind.” I said, not quite believing her. However, she did make a good point. I would have to talk to Matt about that later.

“I’m back.” Matt said, sitting next to me and slinging and arm over my shoulder.

He handed the present back to Johnny who put it down on the picnic table next to himself. He looked like a four year old getting all excited for their birthday party. All of us laughed when he started clapping his hands and squealing like a little school girl.

“Ok, first one is from Kacie and Zack.” He said picking it up. He disregarded the nicely wrapped, small present and just tore through it. He opened the small box that was found under the wrapper. Opening the box, he peered inside. He jumped up and down when he saw what they had gotten him. I found out that it was a new nose ring. “Ok, next one.” He said, picking up a bag.

“Nope, not until last.” Lacey said. Taking it from him and setting it on the ground next to her.

Johnny pouted, but then admitted defeat and moved on to me and Matt’s gift. He opened it and got all wide eyed and excited over the rum. Of course the magazine, snack, and soft drink would be a nice asset to it. Johnny then proceeded to opening Brian and Michelle’s present. Brian had given him a pair of Synyster Gate’s fingerless gloves. As if that wasn’t conceited. I couldn’t help but laugh. Brian looked at me and then the ocean. I comprehended completely and shut my mouth. Jimmy and Leana’s was next. Jimmy was giggling uncontrollably and everyone understood why as soon as Johnny pulled out a pair of boxers that read “Sure Lacey’s got me whipped.” And the back read, “But I’m the one getting laid every night.” I couldn’t help but laugh a little at that. Johnny then moved on to the last one. Val’s. He opened it. It was a volley ball net and a volley ball.

“Any one up for a game after cake?” Val asked, looking at Matt in particular.

Everyone agreed to play a game. Val also suggested that we draw names out of a hat to see who plays with whom. I wasn’t so hot on that idea, but majority ruled. Johnny took the bag that Lacey had and opened it. He grinned from ear to ear when he saw that it was lingerie. That just made me think of what Val said even more. Matt had told me that he would wait before, but if what Val said was true, he wasn’t going to wait much longer.

After cake, we all drew hats. I was team captain of one side, and Val was team captain of the other. I sighed, that was all too perfect. Another thing to make it perfect, her team consisted of, Johnny, Jimmy, Kacie, and Matt. Mine of course consisted of Lacey, Brian, Zacky, and Leana.

I made sure that I adjusted my bright green bikini top before we began. Everything was going great when we first started, but then Val started hitting the ball harder and harder in my direction and cheering Matt on. I held my anger in. I knew it would all come out at the right time.

“Team meeting!” I called, waving my arms for my team to come in.

“So why did you call a team meeting?” Zack asked, eyeing me.

I was off in space, looking over to my right where Val was playing and joking around with Matt. Almost like they were flirting.

“We need to play tougher.” I said, leaving it simple.

“Uh, ok.” Leana said like I was insane.

I walked back over to my position and looked over at Kacie. I nodded at her and she nodded back. I hope she knew that meant to hit it to me. From what she did next showed that she really did get what I meant. She hit it right to me. I jumped up and slammed the ball over. It hit Val square in the face and she fell over. I laughed to myself a little, but I got some scolding looks from other people. Specifically Matt and Michelle. I gave Matt a questioning look. I understood why Michelle would’ve been upset, but what reason did Matt have to be upset with me?

“Oh my god Cass, she’s bleeding.” Michelle said, glaring at me.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to hit her that hard!” I said honestly. I had only meant to nub her a little so she knew to stay away from my man.

Valary got up and started storming over to me. “You didn’t mean to hit me that hard? But you did mean to hit me right? You fucking bitch!” She yelled, swinging her fist at me.

It made contact with my jaw and I stumbled back a little. “Fuck you man!” I yelled, tackling her to the ground.

This must’ve been quite the sight. Two girls fighting in the sand, wearing nothing but bikinis. I slapped her hard in the face and pulled her hair, I must say that I took an impressive chunk out. The fight didn’t last much longer because Matt pulled me off of Val and Zack pulled Val away from me.

“Bitch! You are going to wish your virgin skank ass was never born!” Valary yelled, trying to get away from Zack.

“Hey dumbass! It’s impossible to be a virgin and a skank at the same time! But I guess only know what the skank side is like would make you unable to understand what’s going on the other side.” I said, being a little proud of my comeback.

“Are you sure that she’s ok?” Matt asked on the phone, while I sat down on the couch holding a bag of corn over my bruised jaw. “Ok good. I’ll talk to you later.” He hung up and sighed.

He looked at me in a scolding manner. “Don’t look at me like that. You saw the way she kept flirting with you.” I said, getting a little frustrated that he seemed to be taking her side with all of this.

“Yes I know Cassandra, but you can’t just hit her. She didn’t really do anything.”

“Matt, she knows that you’re off limits, and the fact that she would even try to flirt with you right in front of me just fucking makes me want to kill the slut.” I grumbled, standing up.

“Cass…” He said, knowing all too well that I was beyond pissed.

“What?” I asked in hostility.

“I love you and it makes me feel like you don’t trust me when you get anal about stuff like that.” He said, walking to the kitchen.

“I do trust you. It’s her I don’t trust. I love you.” I reminded him, walking into the kitchen as well.

“Just don’t hit her. She can spread rumors or some crazy shit like that. That could cause so many problems. You don’t even know.” Matt said in all seriousness.

“Fine.” I said, hugging him.

“Are you ready to go to bed?” Matt asked me.

I looked over at the clock and was surprised to see that it was nine o’ clock. I wasn’t one to go to bed early, but I had had a long day. This called for an early bed time.

“Ok.” I said, putting the corn back into the freezer.

We went up to bed and as soon as he got under the covers I had remembered what Val had said to me earlier. “How do you think all these other girls stayed with their guys? They all had sex with their man on the first night.” I guess there was no better time than the present. I turned around and started to kiss him. He of course would never object to that. I began kissing down his bare chest and when I got to right above where his pants begin, I started to unzip them. Matt stopped me.

“What are you doing?” He asked me, I came back up to where he was lying down.

“I want to have sex with you.” I whispered to him.

“Hold up. Since when?” He asked, sitting up now, interested to hear my story.

“Since I decided that all rock stars are about sex drugs and rock ‘n roll.” I said, pressing up against him.

“That sounds like something Val would say. Are you seriously going to listen to her even after what happened today?” He asked in disbelief.

“Well, she’s right isn’t she? You want me to have sex with you.” I said, beginning to suck gently on his neck.

“Cass.” He said, pushing me off of him. “I want to have sex with you, yes. But I don’t want you to do it unless you are ready. We’ve only been together for a couple weeks. I wouldn’t call that ready.” He said, sighing heavily.

“Fine, I guess you’re right.” I agreed, allowing him to sweep me up in his warm arms.

November 30th

The end of November had come around and the only thing that meant to me was that it was time to go on tour. I was so excited, and by the way all the guys were running around proved to me that they were excited too.

“Shit, we have to be to the tour bus by noon!” I yelled, grabbing a whole bunch of my luggage.

I strained when I tried to pick it up and carry it out. And then, as if out of nowhere, Jimmy comes jogging by and carries my luggage like it weighs two pounds. I skulked behind, feeling a little worthless at the moment.

“Don’t look so down in the dumps! We’re going on tour! It’s the best!” Leana shouted excitedly, running outside after her boyfriend.

“But wait! I want to help with something!” I shouted, pouting in the process.

“It’s ok.” Matt said walking over and putting his arms around me. “You girls are supposed to sit back and look beautiful while we guys impress you with our muscles.” Matt said, kissing my neck.

I giggled. “Not in front of people!” I shouted, slapping his chest.

“Ok, ok.” He said, giving me one more kiss on the back of my head and then we left.

I went out and sat down in the girls’ hummer, and the guys went in the guys’ hummer. Kacie was driving, and I was in the passenger seat. Michelle had been a little evasive toward me ever since the fight with Valary. I wouldn’t have hit her if she hadn’t tried to make a move on my man. That was completely un called for.

“Alright, so we have about an hour long drive and no one is turning on any music, so let’s play a not drinking version of ‘I never’.” Lacey said, clapping her hands excitedly.

“Ok.” Kacie said, perking up in her seat, but continuing to keep her eye on the road.

“Ok, I never, had a pregnancy scare.” Leana said, keeping her hand down.

“Bullshit.” Lacey said, putting her hand up in the air. Michelle also threw her hand up. It was no surprise to me when Kacie didn’t put her hand in the air.

“Your turn Kacie.” Michelle said, grinning.

“Alright. I never kissed any of the guys other than my man.” She proudly stated.

Every other girl put their hands up save for me. “You guys have kissed the other guys?” I asked, shocked.

“Yeah, well, they sort of force it on us. But we’re all so close that it’s not even like cheating. I’ve kissed Matt many times.” Leana said, nodding.

“I can honestly say that I have too. But we don’t usually kiss them because we like them; it’s just for like when we play truth or dare, or something like when we’re drunk.” Leana explained.

Ok, so in my head right now I was thinking, no one had better touch my man. I’ll bring hell if someone is making out with my man.

“Cass go!” Michelle yelled, taking me out of my trance.

“Uh. I’ve never seen Matt naked.” I said in all honesty.

All four of the other girls laughed as they each raised their hands. Even Kacie, who was as new to the group as I was had raised her hand high. I was a little taken aback.

“Wait. How did you see his…?” I asked, surprised.

“Zack and I were at the house. This was when you were sick at home a week ago and didn’t want to come over. Remember how you and Matt had that argument after he got back home?” She said, catching my memory. I nodded and she proceeded. “Well it was that day. Yeah, well, he didn’t want to wake you up so he went to take a shower and well, he came out in a towel on. He came downstairs and then went into the kitchen and Zack came up behind him and jumped him. There goes Matt’s towel.”

“Oh my gosh!” I gasped, covering my mouth.

“What did you guys have a fight about?” Michelle asked, intrigued.

“It was just the fact that he would leave me home alone while I was sick. It just pissed me off, but it was no biggie. We were over it by the time it was time for bed.” I explained, just realizing what I had done.

She was probably going to go and blab this off to Val, and Val was going to do just about all she could now to get Matt to leave me while I was sick and piss me off into breaking up with him. Or was I just being a little over paranoid? I had to keep an eye on some of the things I said around Michelle. I forgot sometimes that she and Val were sisters. Kacie let out a huge sigh. I followed her gaze out the window. The guys had been driving in front of us and they were stopping. I sighed as well.

“I hope Jimmy doesn’t have anything to do with this.” Was what Leana said.

We were already crunching on time as it was. I had made sure that we’d had enough time to stop and get tour bus food, but we weren’t at a grocery store. We were at a gas station. It’s not that the bus could, or would, leave without the guys, but they had a show to be at by a certain time, so we had to crank out of here asap. As soon as we parked, Leana hopped out of the vehicle.

“Jimmy, this had better not be because of you!” She shouted, walking in the direction of the guys’ hummer.

Jimmy was already outside. He didn’t appear to like Leana’s accusing behavior. “How come when something goes wrong you all of a sudden it has to be my fault?” Jimmy asked angrily.

“Maybe because it is!” She yelled, beginning to walk off.

I couldn’t believe that they were being serious. That was a stupid thing to fight about. I mean, I wouldn’t even fight about something like that and I was good about getting a stupid fight started.

“Leana, is it really that big of a deal?” I asked, grabbing her shoulder.

“Well, no! But Jimmy takes everything I fucking say and turns it into this great big fucking thing!” She shouted, getting into the truck.

“So what happened that caused you guys to stop anyhow?” Lacey asked Matt.

“I accidentally drove into a pothole and now we have a flat.” He explained, looking at his feet.

“Well, looks like we’re sitting on laps. And this one is sitting on mine.” Zack said picking up Kacie and whirling her around.

So this was going to be an interesting hour long ride. Jimmy and Leana would be sitting at opposite sides of the back seat, perhaps giving rude remarks every so often. I would be seated in Matt’s lap, Zack would be holding tightly on to a jokingly struggling Kacie, Johnny would holding onto his beloved Lacey, and then Brian would offer to drive. And no, they don’t have a seating choice. That’s just how it’s going to go.
