He Saved Me, Loved Me, Wanted Me

IX.

No one had said anything for awhile, and I was beginning to worry. It most definitely was because of something I had said. This much was given.

All of a sudden, Gena flung herself on me, holding me tightly in a hug. Val piled on next, followed by everyone else in the room.

“You’re safe now,” Val said. I nodded, knowing she was right.

Sighing heavily, I looked to Brian. His face was dropped and he looked to our hands together, which I did too. His thumb continuously brushed over the three diamonds of the engagement ring he purposed to me with.

“I love you, Anastasia Renee Whitaker,” I translated slowly, confused of where this was going. “Hell, I’m even in love with you.” My heartbeat raced, and I was too dumfounded to translate as he bent down on one knee. “In front of this crowd, in your favorite city of Paris, will you agree to be Anastasia Renee Haner?” My face lit up as I gazed upon the ring. It was so beautiful. One large diamond, with two medium ones around it on a silver band. Shit. If this was the proposal ring, what’s the wedding ring? I couldn’t say anything; I was too busy looking between Brian and the ring.

“You kept it,” Brian said, startling me out of my thoughts. I looked to him; he was now smiling and looking at me.

“Why wouldn’t I?” I asked, matching my smile to his.

“Let’s go everyone, give them some space,” Johnny said.

“That’s the first smart sounding thing you’ve said today, short shit,” Jimmy said. “Congratulations.”

“I’m going to talk to you about your hair later, Ana!” Gena said as she pointed to me. Soon everyone was out and I cuddled into Brian’s chest. Listening to his heartbeat, and the sound his lungs made with each breath, I felt completely at ease.

“You up to the show tonight?” Brian asked. I looked at him perplexed.

“Tonight?”

He nodded and laughed. “Yes. Tonight. There’s one more here then we’re off to another spot.”

“But… I don’t have anything to wear.”

“We’ve kept all your clothes… well, I did. They’re in the bus.” I lit up.

“You really kept them? Wow. That makes me feel so much better. Now I have two extra suitcases of French clothes.”

“That I’ll look through later!” came Val’s muffled voice from outside the door.

“Val!” Gena said. I laughed and looked up to Brian, laying my chin on his chest.

Brian sighed and held me tighter. “I blame myself for what happened to you, you know.”

“Why?”

“Because if I hadn’t asked V-”

“There’s nothing you could’ve done differently, Brian.”

“I just-”

“Shh,” I said, placing my finger on his lips. Brian kissed my finger.

“You know what I hear?” he asked with a smirk.

“What?”

“I hear it’s safe to have sex until the third trimester.”

I cocked and eyebrow and he swiftly pulled me up so I straddled him. In that same movement, he kissed me and I pulled back.

“If we have twins, I’m blaming you,” I said with a laugh before kissing him once more.

It was on.

----

“It’s there,” Gena said, eyeing Brian and I as we boarded the bus. Nothing has changed since I was last in here. Not one inch of it.

“What?” Brian asked.

“You two had sex, didn’t you?” she asked. I just laughed. And to think I missed this. It was déjà vu all over again. Cue Zacky. He had earphones on and he looked down like he was looking for something.

“It's 3 a.m. She won't put out, let’s go make out with her friends, make out with her friends' friends! It's 3 a.m. - she won't put out lets go make out with her friends
MAKE OUT WITH HER FRI-” Zacky altered his voice in an extremely funny way. When he found his belt he looked up to us, Gena’s gaze in particular.

“Every fucking time I swear to God,” she said, about to laugh.

‘Ready?’ CS had written down on a notebook.

“Yup,” everyone around said.

“What?” Zacky asked, defending himself.

“Look at them,” Gena said, pointing to Brian I who sat down.

“What?”

Gena pushed him gently and laughed. Zacky wrapped his arms around her shoulders and looked at us.

“They fucked each other!” Zacky said in a singsong voice. I threw my hands up.

“How is it you can tell?” I asked.

“Cause Gena and Zacky are like rabbits,” Brian put simply. “They know…”

“That makes me miss Leana…,” Jimmy said, looking down to the ground.

“Cause you two are rabbits,” Zacky said, “Plus Ana always gives it away.”

“How?” I asked, my eyes slightly narrowed.

“You have that dopey grin on your face. It just screams ‘I got fucked,’” Val said, laughing.

“Oh gee, thanks.” I said rolling my eyes. “So, considering I’m pregnant, what are we going to do about doctor visits?”

“There’s always some sort of doctor on tour,” Brian said.

“Yeah, but that’s not a baby doctor, Bri,” Gena said, “She needs a baby doctor.”

“Then we’ll hire one,” Brian said.

“Face it, you guys. I can’t stay on too long with a baby in here,” I said, holding my stomach.

“Yes you can!” Brian said, nuzzling into my neck.

I pouted, coming to a sudden realization. “Babe, I need the checkups with a real gynecologist. If I want to make sure the baby is healthy and such, I need to do that.”

“That’s fine, Zacky’s a gynecologist,” Jimmy said, laughing.

“Bull shit!” I exclaimed. “He’s not doing anything even related!”

Everyone continued laughing, and CS wrote on a piece of paper. ‘Are you sure? How long do you think you can stay? You just got here.’

“I know, Colonel Sanders, but this baby is part of me now and I’ve got to keep it safe,” I said, “I don’t know how long. I used to have an appointment every two weeks. Maybe until I get rescheduled and such, I’ll have to go.”

“It’s an embryo…,” Johnny said. “I don’t think the proper term is ‘baby’ right now.”

“Johnny, just… don’t talk,” Jimmy said.

Brian sighed loudly beside me. “I can hire someone to go with us while we’re on tour.”

Poor he, Brian was just desperate to keep me here. I smiled and kissed his shoulder. “Some equipment can’t be on tour, babe.”

“Put that out!” Gena said, slapping Zacky’s arm. “There’s a pregnant lady in here! You are not going to smoke!”

“Sorry, sorry! There! It’s out!”

I laughed and kissed the worrying Brian’s shoulder again.
