Take A Sad Song and Make It Better

[Alanna's POV]

I felt someone lifting me. I opened my eyes to see Maddox carrying me in his arms. I closed my eyes, burying my face into his neck.

"Sleepy?" he asked.

"Mhm."

He laid me down in the bed, covering me with a blanket.

"Thanks." I mumbled.

He kissed my forehead lightly.

"I'm going to go take care of some stuff okay. Will you be okay alone?"

I nodded, cuddling into the bed. I heard the door close lightly.

I jerked awake covered in sweat. I looked around, jumping out of bed.

"Maddox?"

I walked out to the living room seeing Maddox on the couch.

"Hey babe."

"H-Hey."

I sat down next to him. He wrapped his arms around.

"'I've missed you."

I snuggled closer.

"I missed you too."

"Really?" he asked.

"Yeah."

"What happened, you know when you were gone?"

"I-I dated...I went out with Ma-Matt and he ch-cheated on...me."

He looked at me with a sad expression.

"Well, I'm glad you're back." he said, kissing me.

"You're n-not ma-mad?"

"Of course not."

"Who are you and what have you done with Maddox?"

He let out a laugh.

"I've had a lot of thinking while you were gone. I realized how much I missed you. I couldn't stand not being by you. I know you don't want to hear excuses but I was so scared of losing you. I-I just thought maybe if..well if you were scared of me you'd never leave." he said, hurriedly.

I looked up at him. He had tears in his eyes. I cupped his face in my hands, pressing my lips to his. I rested my forehead on his.

"I-I love you."

"Please don't leave me again." he mumbled.

"I w-won't, I promise."

He picked me up playfully.

"Ah! Maddox! Put me down." I laughed.

He carried me to the bedroom, throwing me on the bed. He slipped into the covers, holding me tightly. I buried my face into his neck.

"Good night baby. I love you."

I smiled.

"I love you too."
