"This Is What Happens When I Run After Someone"

I watched as a familiar hunched figure walked away from my apartment. 'Why would he come looking over here?' I thought as he faded. My question was answered by thunder, lightening, and a serious downpour. I laughed as I headed out of my apartment, I had, after all, just decided to follow the most notorious criminal in all of Gotham. As my sneaker clad feet splashed through puddles, I couldn't help but smile. I know I should've hated him for what he did to me, but I couldn't. 'After all, he never killed me. Just made me stronger' I thought as I continued on my journey. It really was stupid of me to go out in the rain without knowing where I was going, but I didn't care. I continued my journey and it wasn't until everything started to look the same did I think I was lost.

Sliding down the wall I had been leaning on, I let my sadness grow. "Kei?" came an all too familiar voice. I looked up to find Happy and Chuckles standing over me. I let out a cough and then a sneeze, causing Chuckles to place his jacket over me. "Where have you been?" asked Happy. I was about to answer, but as I stood up, I felt dizzy. Chuckles caught me and carried me over to the van that was parked across the street. As I was placed inside, I could tell the Joker was shocked. Here he was, looking for me, and here I was, chasing after him in the rain, not even knowing where I'd wind up. "Beautiful, you look, uh, well, terrible" he said, licking his lips. I slightly chuckled and I couldn't help but smile. "Yeah well, this is what happens when I run after someone" I said. "And who was that someone, beautiful?" he asked me, gently pulling me closer to him and laying my head on his thigh. "Silly Joker, I thought that was obvious" I said, starting to cough.

The Joker just ordered Grumpy to drive and Dopey looked at me. "It's been awhile since we've seen you" he said. I smiled and giggled. "Two weeks" I said as I started to shiver. The Joker just took off his coat and placed it over me. I smiled up at him as he gave me an actual smile. The whole ride back was a pleasant one, however it seemed like the Joker was holding something back. "Joker, what are you hiding?" I asked him as he carried me back to the room I knew to be his. "I'm not hiding anything beautiful" he said, trying to fake an innocent look. I giggled and shook my head. "It's not working" I said as he laughed. "You'll find out in due time what I'm hiding. For now though, you should sleep" said the Joker as he laid me down. Once my head hit the pillow, my eyes were struggling to stay open. The last thing I remember before drifting off to sleep was me asking the Joker to stay with me and him laying down next to me, before wrapping me in his arms.
