Rumors

We went in my room and Micheal just seemed so tense; it
was bad enough that my mom has little to no faith in me.
How could she have tried to give me blood again? It all
unnerved me; and I just wanted it all to stop. Micheal was
sitting on the chair at my desk and he was still tense and
still not talking.

"Would you tell me what's wrong?" I asked walking over to
him and taking his hand to hold. He bared his teeth, they
were sharp, he seemed to be fighting the urge to turn into a
werewolf. But why would he want to be one now? Very
few things trigured it; anger being the most powerful, then
there was other emotions being too strong for our human
selves, maybe getting hurt or losing someone would cause
us to change immediately. And then there was blood.
He breathed heavily through his mouth and I could easily
hear his breaths. I tilted his head up with my hand and left
my hand on his chin. "What's wrong?" I asked again. He
shook his head. What is wrong with everybody now? What
is going through his mind?

(Micheal's Point of View)

Once I stepped in to Samantha's house I smelled blood, it
was a fowl stench, something not many werewolves liked.
It was sweet, but too sweet, like a strong perfume that
stung our senses. I tried to ignore it remembering that I
had to be watching Samantha. I shook my head in regret.
Had I known we would have so much feelings for each
other I would not have agreed to be her watcher. I could
never tell her; and if there was a day that I was allowed to
she might not love me because she would be so furious
that I hadn't trusted her. But I do; most of the time.

Like right now, I can hear her refusing the blood. I was a
bit upset to hear that Samantha's mother was avioding
her; it was a bit coward like for a werewolf not to just be
blunt about things. But I could understand where her
mother was coming from. Things like this were not the
easiest thing when you truly cared about someone.

Samantha smiled at me the moment she saw me and I
smiled back. She whispered something to her mom, I did
my best not to hear to give them privacy, as she dumped
the glass of blood in the sink. She grabbed my hand and
we walked up stairs to her room.

The blood made me sick, it made me angry, though it did
not make me want to kill a human. I was on the edge of
transforming right now, I felt my teeth and they were
already sharp. Samantha asked me what was wrong as
she walked over and grabbed my hand. I just showed her
my teeth. She waited a while and then lifted my chin up so
that I could look into her eyes. She had beautiful wide
brown eyes; this calmed me a little. I closed my eyes to try
and focus on calming down but the smell of blodd had not
washed away from the house; there was so much blodd
here. I don't know how she couldn't smell it. Part of me
was surprised she wasn't going crazy and attacking me to
taste blood. I shook my head, I shouldn't think like that. I
trusted her more than anyone else would ever trust her.

I opened my eyes and she was just staring at me, waiting
for me to answer her. "I'm sorry. Is your mother talking to
you again?" I apologized but quickly changed the subject
before she could interrogate me further. She shrugged her
shoulders and walked over to her bed. "She gave me
blood." Her words came out in a throaty whisper. It
reminded me of the night I came to check on her; when I
held her as she cried. She was so beautiful even with a
tear stained face.

I nodded and walked over to her bed and sat next to her;
ready to comfort her when she needed it. "Will she talk to
you now?" I said. She shrugged again, "I told her I didn't
like that and I wish she wouldn't avoide me, hopefully she
stops." She looked at me with the saddest eyes and even
though I knew she was strong, I wrapped my arms around
her and rested my chin on her head.

(Samantha's Point of View)

I sighed as he held me, I knew I didn't really need him, I
didn't need to be held, be comforted. I knew I was stronger
but it was just so nice to have someone that cared enough
to comfort you. To actually be able to hold someone and
not be afraid to hurt them. Even though I was strong I
couldn't help but admit to myself that being with Micheal,
having him, made me feel vulnerable; it made me feel like I
needed him to be with me and to comfort me.

We just snuggled on my bed, and then his mother called
for him to go. We said our goodbyes and I headed for the
kitchen to help my mother set the table. I finished and my
father came home. We ate and had very little to talk about
at the table. Once I was done I washed my plate as well as
everyone else's and went to my room to sleep.

The next day I was taken by surprise by my other friends,
the ones that didn't know that I was a werewolf and for all I
knew believed that werewolves weren't real. But then there
were signs every where. I ignored them, but it was hard
not to ignore all the chatter. Come on, everyone loves a
good rumor.

But what was on everyone's mind was not a rumor. It was
real because I was real, because werewolves were real. I
didn't care until now to read all the posters. Everyone was
whispering and chatting about wolves, about a police
officer being attacked by a wolf. The police officer didn't die
but was injured badly, he was bitten. "He told the reporter
he was just walking through the woods and saw a man
that was naked and covered head to tow in blood. He
gently moved the man and the next thing he new there was
a wolf instead of a man and he was hanging upside down,
his leg in the wolfs mouth." I heard from one of students I
passed. I bumped into Micheal because I wasn't looking
where I was going. I finally looked at the posters hanging
all over the walls of my school.

BEWARE!! GIANT WOLVES (OR MAYBE WEREWOLVS)
LURK AROUND THE PARKS!!!!

FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS AND YOU SHOULD BE
SAFE:

1.) Don't go into the woods alone, always have a buddy
when answering natures call.

2.) Camp with at least 4(four) people.

The list went on with things that wouldn't stop a werewolf.
I looked up at Micheal, his face showed every sign of being
scared. My friends walked over to me, including Jessica,
she had that same scared mask on her face but it wasn't as
evident as Micheals. "Oh my gosh! Can you believe it?!
Werewolves!!" said Britney. She was happy there were
werewolves.

Jessica came in between Britney and I. "Oh come on Btit,
do you seriously think that werewolves exist? That's
impossible." She said, if I wasn't a werewolf or didn't know
they existed I would have believed her convincing charade.
"Well, it was a police officer that saw one, and wolves
aren't big enough to have him floating in the air, and
wolves don't travel alone." Britney said defending herself.

Boy, was she right on target. Wolves didn't travel alone,
but werewolves sometimes did. It must have been one of
the travelers. They should know better. I wasn't completely
sure what would happen to the officer now, would he be
o.k.? Maybe he would get rabbes or maybe turn into one
of us, then he would have to stop telling people. All this
was not good. We should have killed them when we had
the chance.

With that thought I felt my teeth sharpen. I gasped and
looked at Micheal. He grabbed my arm and we went into an
empty classroom. Jessica was smart enough to win the
arguement over whether or not werewolves existed, which
was pretty funny because she knew she was denying
something she knew to be true.

I opened my mouth when we were inside the classroom. It
hurt to have sharp teeth in your mouth. "Sorry, I just
realized that it had to have been those two that came." He
nodded, I wasn't sure if it was because he understood why
I had the need to turn or if it was because he accepted my
apology.

"We need to figure out what to do, we'll all probably have
to have a meeting, I bet our parents are talking right now
about everything. This isn't just one family that has to deal
with it, it has to be all of us. My mom told me that
werewolves can create other werewolves, but she said she's
never heard of a situation where they tried to creat on besides on
the night of a full moon. There's a huge chance that he
dies." Micheal spoke quickly. I listened closely to keep up.
Just then we heard the intercom go on. "Would Micheal
Wells and Samantha Connor please come to the main
office, your parents are here to pick you up."
"Well, that settles it, I'm glad I didn't take you up on that
bet." I said trying to lighten the atmosphere around us. Our
parents were about 3 steps ahead of us.

I saw Jessica and she gave me a reassuring smile, she had
won the arguement. I gave her a thankful nod and turned
to head off in the direction of the main office, Micheal by
my side.

I was surprised that my mom and Micheal's mom bothered
taking a car, being a werewolf we were much faster.
Everyone was in class so we were all alone in the parking
lot. "So what do we do?" I asked my mom before we all got
into her car. She looked at me and then at Micheal and
then got in the car. We follwed suit. We buckled up when
she finally answered. "First thing's first, we have to get
the officer to hush up for now."
