Who's Going Home With You Tonight?

Tension

That night, Tiana found herself packing for a 10:00 PM flight which didn't leave her much time. Not only did Chuck and their manager totally agree to the concert, but Tiana and Shelly were invited to tag along on Simple Plan's entire cross Canada tour. So, instead of arguing with them for being gone so long, their boss put an intern journalist and photographer in their positions until they got back to print out thier massaive article. What had started out as a simple contest and magazine article was turning into a massive publicity stunt for both Simple Plan, and the magazine company.

Tiana didn't know whether to sit down and cry or be happy. She seriously doubted that their month of touring in Canada with Simple Plan was going to be an easy, fun one. Shelly really had no idea how awkward it was going to be for Tia to basically live with Pierre for the next month, especially when the didn't talk to each other anymore. She frowned. Unless they were drunk.

Shaking her head in frustration she zipped her bag up and almost had it into it's upright position when the apartment phone started ringing. She scrambled to the kitchen and picked up before her answering machine was able to do it for her. "Hello?"

"Hey, it's me. I'm out front so come out when you're ready. Unless you need a hand?"

"No I'm fine. I'll be down in a minute." She hung up the phone with Shelly and took one last look around her apartment. She'd thrown out everything in her fridge that would go bad in her absence, taken the garbage out and pre-paid her rent. Everything would be just fine until her return.

Finally satisfied she headed back to her room and grabbed her luggage and her purse. As she wheeled the bags down the hall towards the elevator she silently thanked the person who'd created the luggage bag with wheels because there was no way in hell she'd be able to carry one let alone two.

Outside, Shelly was already out of her car ready to help her toss her luggage into the trunk.

"That big one's much heavier than I anticipated."

Shelly turned to her with a grin. Sliding her sunglasses off the top of her head down over the bridge of her nose. "It's still not as heavy as mine."

"Oh, I believe it." Tiana grinned as she walked to the passenger side, pulling open the door and slipping into the cool interior. Shelly slipped into the drivers seat beside her and they pulled their buckles on.

"To the airport?"

Tiana nodded. It wasn't gonna get any easier. "To the airport."

Landing around midnight was, most girl's dream. It meant that most people, most normal people anyway were at home settled in bed. And that meant that getting off the plane looking like an utter mess was a little bit easier because no one was there to asses their looks.

"I hate planes so much." Tiana stated from behind Shelly as they crossed through the Toronto Air Canada terminal.

Shelly glanced back at her as they approached the baggage pick-up. "Really? They've never been a problem for me."

"Be thankful." Tia grasped onto her luggage bag when it came around and it landed on the floor with a heavy thud. "Good thing most of the expensive stuff is in my carry on." She smiled.

"So, who's here to pick us up?" Shelly asked curiously as she waiter for her bag to roll closer.

"My guess would probably be, Pat." She zipped up her sweater before helping Shelly pull her bag off.

Her assumption proved to be correct as she heard her name being called out from a mass of people waiting for the passengers to organzie themselves. She knew the voice, but wasn't prepared for what happened next. The man came at her, all legs and arms, nearly plowing her over as he enveloped her in a big hug and kissed her on the cheek. "I missed you."

Tiana couldn't help but laugh as she clutched onto the sinewy yet muscled male in front of her. He still smelled the same and that made he feel comforted. "Hi, David."

He grinned and stepped back, holding her hands in his own and holding her arms apart and stretched out in fron of her, taking in her appearance. "You look good, babe. I was worried about you."

She couldn't help but flush. He laughed and released her hands pulling her again him again for another brief hug. That's when she noticed Pat and Chuck talking with Shelly.

Chuck turned to her with a soft grin. "We tried to leave him at home, but he really wanted to come."

Shelly chuckled as David moved on to her and Chuck stepped forward for a hug from Tiana. "I'm glad you came." She hugged him back, loving the friendly warmth he offered her. She could tell though, that he was as nervous about the whole situation as she was. He was very intuitive that way.

Chuck stepped aside and allowed Pat to move in and hug her. Soon afterwards they were heading out to the taxi. Chuck helped the driver load the girls luggage and soon they were all packing into the yellow vehicle.

"So, are you ladies coming with us across Canada on the bus?" David asked excitedly from the front seat.

Tiana nodded. "Yeah, I don't know how much fun it will be with me around. But I'll do my best."

David pouted. "Pierre is an ass, ruining all my fun."

"It'll be okay." Chuck reassured them both.

But Tiana wasn't quite sure of that.

In the hotel, it didn't take long for Tiana and Shelly to be issued their room key and they were on their way upstairs to put their bags away and head to bed. The next morning, they were flying to New Foundland. This time around, their tour manager had decided to start in the East with New Foundland and work their way West, finishing up in Vancouver.

And that was quite alright with Tiana, because after the Vancouver show, she could literally just catch a cab home. There would be no more flying involved.

"Are you sure you don't wanna go meet with everyone before heading to bed?" Shelly asked again as she laid out her pajamas on the bed they were sharing.

Tiana shook her head. She wanted at least one night of good sleep before she saw Pierre. She knew she was going to require all the strength she posessed to keep compsed.

"Alright then." Shelly grabbed her clothes and headed for the washroom. "Chuck said that if we didn't show up to visit tonight, he'd place our wake up call." She closed the door ending the conversation. Tiana was thankful and took the moment to change into her own pajamas and climb onto her side of the bed.

When Shelly emerged again, she shut off the lights and slipped underneath the covers beside her best friend. She broke the silence with an excited chuckle. "You have no idea the adrenaline running through me right now. I think we're going to have so much fun."

Tiana rolled her eyes, thankful for the cover of the dark. "I'm not excited." She said flatly. "I mean, what the hell am I supposed to say to Pierre?"

She heard Shelly sigh deeply beside her. "Tell him, that you don't wanna fight. You're here to work and have fun just like he is."

"I wished it was that easy." Tiana rolled onto her side and stared at the wall. She felt and heard Shelly shift beside her before the room fell silent, but only for a moment.

"Try not to worry about it, babe. Good night."

"Night." Tiana mumbled as she curled up in the blankets. She tried to clear her mind of all thoughts of Pierre, but like usual, the one thing you try not to think about becomes the only thing you can thing of. And the knowledge of him sleeping on the other side of the wall, was driving her crazy.
