The Beach House

“He can’t be that bad” I sighed and twirled a strand of my chocolate hair, “Kat not bad is someone who completely ignores me, but being all Bi Polar on my ass isn’t helping this any much more,” I sighed sizing myself up in my full length mirror,

“Oh you mean your dilemma” Katrina snickered I rolled my eyes and smoothed out my short grey dress, “Look I got to go but I’ll call you later tonight,”

“Alright, but be my guest if you want to skip out on our enticing conversation to jump Mr. Jonas’s bones” I shuddered at the thought, “Shut up Kat, later kay?”

“But remember-“ rolling my eyes I hung up the phone and continued to scrutinized my appearance. Katrina White had been my best friend since the fourth grade, when she dropped her pudding onto my left shoulder.

Friends ever since,

“Jamie ready?” A small voice came from the outside of my bedroom door, “Yeah Dyl, I’ll be down in a second.” I sighed and squirted a light scent of lavender on my neck,

Tonight the Jonas’s thought it would be a nice gesture to take us, the Jade’s, out to dinner. Meaning I had to sit through a full two hour dinner, depending if we skipped desert, with Joe. Joe, the once person who confused me more then life.

Reluctantly throwing on a light sweater I headed to my death, dinner.

“What is taking James so long?” Chris stressed, Debra placed a comforting hand onto his shoulder as Dylan ran downstairs, “She said she’d be out in a second, can I wait in the car?”

Debra nodded and followed Dylan out to the car, “Why don’t we all wait in the car and have someone wait up?” my dad nodded and instructed everyone out to the car,

“Joseph, would you mind staying?” hm, would I mind waiting up for the one girl who made me nervous, awkward, uncomfortable, and all at the same time happy?

No.

“Sure.” My dad smiled approvingly and went out to the garage, “Would you mind hurrying up a bit?” I mumbled seating myself down on one of the dinning room chairs.

“Sorry” came the rushed voice of Jamie, and as soon as I sat down I stood back up,

I rushed down the stairs to find Joe standing awkwardly in the middle of the dinning room, “You could of sat down you know?” I said looking at him strangely,

“I was” his voice seemed edged as he loosened his tie, “I’ll be out by the car,” I nodded and sighed grabbing a pair of plain black heels.

This would be a long night.

“Well Jamie you look lovely,” Denise smiled as I stuffed myself into the back of the van, “Thank you” I smiled, Nick who sat next to me leaned in a little closer,

“You smell really good.” I giggled as he closed his eyes and continued to ‘smell’ me, “um, Nick I’m not going to lie, it was cute the first time but now, now this is just creepy”

Nick glared and a shrugged, “Sorry sweetie” I looked out the tinted window and began to hum to myself,

“And we are here!” My mom giggled excitedly, I groaned as Nick climbed over my legs nearly crushing my foot, “Sorry Sweetie” He ginned.

I glared and managed to hop out of the van, of course crashing into Joe on the way down. “Sorry” I mumbled brushing past him and walking onto the restaurant.

“Jamie hun, would you mind unloading the cake for me?” My mother called out walking drowsily into the house, “Am I your slave?” I mumbled jumping out of the van and walking down to the truck.

After a nice quiet dinner we stopped off at Rick’s to pick up a cake for Dylan, he was turning eleven tomorrow.

The cold air sent shivers up my arms as I heaved the heavy thing into my arms, “Do you need help with that?” a soft voiced asked. I nodded slightly and shivered as his hot breath tickled my ear,

He smoothly took it from my arms as I sighed and closed the truck locking the car. I dragged myself up the creaky stairs nearly running into a broad figure,

“Joe?” I whispered as he grinned and pulled my somewhat to the side, “Joe what are you doing?” Joe ignored my questioned and held out his hand,

“Dance with me?” I bunched up my eyebrows turning around slightly, “There’s no music” and if as planed a soft melody rang out through the crisp air,

Joe grinned at me as I started at him with wide eyes, “Who told you I like the Tokens?” I smiled, Joe smirked and pushed his hand out further, “That’s not what I asked, dance with me?”

I smiled and walked in closer to his warm body, “Only because this is the best song ever made,” I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders as he did the same to my waist,
