The Beach House

I sighed and typed away at my computer, Katrina, stop bugging me! I huffed replying to my best friend’s wall post,

“Knock knock” came a hushed voice, “Hey Joe” I murmured not taking my eyes away from the computer screen, “And what are you doing?” he asked looming over my shoulder, I felt his warm lips grace my cheeks as I sighed,

“Eh checking Facebook, what would you like?” I asked spinning around in my chair to view Joe, “I see you have no pictures of moi,” he huffed flicking his hair, “and I’m boreddd Jamie entertain me!” he whined flopping down on my bed,

I rolled my eyes and jumped on Joe making him groan, “You smell like cookies!” I giggled as Joe rolled me on top of him, “Yeah, your mom’s making cookies that are shaped like ducks,”

“Duck’s eh?” I asked blowing some hair out of my face, “Can we do something please?” Joe moaned, “Ducks,” I repeated, “Ducks! Joe c’mon!” I grinned grabbing onto his warm hands and pulling him up with me,

“Jamie where are we going?” Joe grinned as he watched me slip on some black phlats, “I’m going to show you what my heaven looks like” I grinned grabbing his hand and running down the hall and out the house,

I smiled as I watched Jamie gently try to rip off a piece of bread and throw it into the rather large pond, “You know this whole mating call to the ducks thing, it’s not really working out,”

Jamie glared at me with her beautiful blue eyes and gently nudged my shoulder, “They’ll come, they just haven’t smelt the bread yet” She explained, I nodded and ripped off a piece of bread from the loaf she brought with us and threw it into the pond,

“You know, when Dylan was born, and I was no longer the center of attention, I ran away.” I raised my eyebrows and let my mouth fall, she giggled and ripped another piece off,

“Yup, I didn’t go very far but I came here, and I saw this whole swarm of ducks and I-okay don’t laugh okay?” I nodded and watched her intensively, “I-I named all of them”

I couldn’t help it. I just couldn’t, “You what?!” I choked back letting a howl of laughter out, “Hey!” she blushed, “You promised,” I nodded and kissed her forehead, “I know, sorry”

She nodded, “Yeah well every time I come down to the beach house I come down here, at least once and feed them bread, they’ll come.” She insisted.

I couldn’t help but smile as I watched her stare out over the rippling water, how beautiful she was. She was simple, yet perfect in everyway wearing a light flowing white skirt that ended right before her knee’s and simple black phlats, her hair was down in light waves and her beige top fit well to her completion.

“Hey Jamie?” She looked up at me her deep blue eyes full of wonder, “You’re beautiful.” She blushed and looked away grabbing my arm, “Look!” She squealed grabbing onto my arm and pulling me over towards the pond.

And sure enough about a dozen ducks lied patiently, “See that one?” She pointed out in a whisper inching towards them, “Yea?” She stopped and ripped the loaf in half, “That one’s name is Brego, and he’s my favorite”

I chuckled as she ripped off a piece and waited for the old duck to take the piece, “Well, I hope I don’t have any competition.” I chuckled; Jamie stood and moved closer to me making my heart speed up,

“Well if I was you, I wouldn’t be too nervous” She grinned pecking my cheek, I grinned and watched her happily feed her ‘friends’
