Sequel: Streets

Mont Blanc

Chapter Eleven

Me and Brian were making our way up the slopes, we had just been to the shop, to buy two new snowboards. That right. I was going to stop Brian being a ski pussy and teach him the wild ride. We got up to the safe part of the mountain. It was really quiet today, so that’s good for us.

“So, how do I get my boots in these things again?” he asked for the thirteenth time

“Shut up, I have told you?” I said

“Tell me again.”

“No, I will help you up the top.” I laughed as he wrapped his spare arm around my waist.

“Okay.” he said. We walked for another five minutes before I came to a part that looked the best for us.

“Here we are.” I said throwing my board on the ground

“Yes, because the snow here is far different to everywhere else.” he laughed

“Shut the fuck up.” I said. I showed him how to strap his boots to the board, me making sure they were extra tight. I taught him how to stand on it, how to turn and how to stop.

“And remember, if you have to emergency stop, you just put your arms above your head to protect it and fall backwards.” I joked

“Okay.” he said letting go of my hand. We made our way down the slopes, he was quite good, probably his teacher. We dodged the patch of trees and slowed down at the bottom.

“That was so much better than skiing.” he shouted

“Its like skateboarding, with no wheels.” I said undoing my board

“What do you want to do now?” he asked

“Well the families are coming back out so I don’t want to go back up there again.” I laughed

“Okay, lets get something to eat.” he said grabbing my hand and taking me over towards a coffee shop. I brushed the excess snow off my board as I walked into the shop, not wanting to cause a fuss. We walked up to the counter where Brian ordered two hot chocolates.

“That’s gonna make us tired.” I laughed

“So, we still have like another week and a half to do stuff.” he said paying and getting the drinks. We went and sat at the cosy round table in the corner.

“Thank you.” I said jumping onto the soft couch.

“Its okay they were only like three euros, its not much.” he said

“No, thank you for being my friend again.” I smiled curing into him

“Thank you for finally making me realise how much of a cunt I am.” he laughed

“What’s going to happen when we get back home?”

“Fuck, I haven’t thought of that. How about you come and hang with me and my friends.” he said

“What, the dicks that beat me up everyday, no thank you.” I scoffed

“Well its either that or I lose my friends.” he said

“Well, we can give it a go. I’m not making promises.” I laughed

“Okay good. I think you will like them when you get to know them, they are not all that bad.” he laughed

“Okay.”

“Why are you so quiet?” he asked out of the blue

“What?”

“When we were younger you were the loud one, now you are really quiet.” he laughed

“I don’t know.” I answered

“You should be louder, you never say what your thinking anymore.” he said

“Well maybe if you hadn’t made me feel like dog shit then I would have spoken out.” I snapped

“Okay, chill.” he said. For fucks sake, why couldn’t he get it through his head that he changed me.

“What are we doing later then?” I asked while blowing my hot chocolate

“Well I was thinking we could go into the town, if your not hungover that is.” he laughed

“No, I don’t get that hungover, a cup of coffee and I’m fine,” I mumbled, “What are we going to do in town?” I asked

“Well I was thinking that we could go bar hopping or something.” he said

“So you want me to come with you so you can get wasted?” I asked

“Who said I was going to get wasted?”

“I know what your like.” I laughed

“No you don’t you don’t have a clue what I am like.” he snapped

“No I don’t know what your like. Actually it feels like I am with someone I don’t know. One minute your great the next your being a dick.” I said

“Yeah, what’s the point of being with someone that you don’t know?”
