What Happens Under The Sun

*~Tom's Point of View~*

We were lying silently on the couch. Kate was looking aimlessly around my apartment when a shiver rippled through her. I hardly blamed her, considering how hot we'd been about three minutes ago, it was pretty cold in here.

I reached over her and pulled a blanket off the back of the couch and down on top of us. It felt like before when we had been on the island, except now I technically wasn't allowed to be with her. But the fact that I shouldn't only made me want her more.

She turned a little and was in a would-be cuddling position, but suddenly she tensed up.

''You have to go.'' She said, sitting up and pulling the blanket with her. I realized she was right; it was almost one.

''Shit.'' I muttered and she laughed softly.

She climbed over me and started to collect her clothes from their various places around the room. The look on her face was off somehow, she looked almost like she was in a rush to leave. My first thought was that she was regretting coming here in the first place, but I didn't like that option very much so I decided that she probably had somewhere to go.

I got up and started to dress as well. I didn't want to go to the studio smelling like sweaty sex, but there was no time to shower.

Kate was dressed before I was and she came back over to me.

''This was fun, I'll see you later.'' She said and then kissed me quickly on the lips before heading for the door.

''That's it?'' I asked blankly. She was just going to go without leaving me her number or anything?

''Yea.'' She said simply as she opened the door.

''Bye.'' She smiled and then slipped out of my apartment.

I felt almost hurt. I'd never had a girl so eager to leave, but at the same time I almost expected it from Kate. She'd been so distant at first at the resort too, maybe she had reset or something and we were working from square one. I had no clue.

After standing and staring blankly at the door for a few seconds, I grabbed my keys and left my apartment. When I got down to the elevators, Bill was there waiting for an elevator. I knew he would ask a lot of questions.

*~Bill's Point of View~*

I was late, I know, but they would deal. They could play music without words and it would sound alright.

I stepped out into the hall and walked toward s the elevators. When I got there an elevator was open and a woman had just stepped inside.

''Hold it please!'' I called, hurrying towards the door. I saw her face for only a second before she stepped out of my line of vision and started to push the button very fast.

The doors closed just before I got to them and I cursed under my breath. I pushed the button and waited for another elevator. I heard someone coming down the hall and out of habit I turned to see who it was.

''Tom?'' I said at the sight of my brother coming towards me.

''I thought you left an hour ago.'' I said.

''I uh, realized that there was something I needed to do before I left.'' He said as he got closer. He smelled quite funny and I sniffed slightly before I realized what I smelled.

''You smell like sex.'' I said accusingly and he shrugged.

''Was it that girl from the third floor?'' I asked with a grin. A cute blonde from the third floor had been making eyes at him in the elevator for about two weeks now.

''Maybe.'' He said.

''Way to go, you've successfully slept with every girl in the building.'' I said with a bit of a laugh. It wasn't true though; it was a joke of ours.

The elevator dinged and the doors opened. We stepped inside.

''So you can drive me then?'' I asked.

''No you can take a cab.'' Tom said flatly and I furrowed my eyebrows.

''Kidding.'' He rolled his eyes.

It was quiet for a minute before I spoke just for the sake of breaking the silence.

''Was it good?'' I asked and Tom smirked.

''You have no idea.''
