Life Is Full of Surprises

“Shannon I want to go!” I said.

“No, Paty! I’ll call you when we find him!” Shannon said getting irritated and leaving to the plain.

Behind he left me. With no hopes on finding Jared and a movie to end.

“Paty we can give you some weeks out.” Phyllida said

“No, I have to do this. At least until Jared is found I will be here doing this.” I said

After shooting at least 5 scenes a week sense my rhythm was now quicker because everyone was driving me crazy. I wasn’t always smiling like I did before so people noticed and they kept asking so Phyllida decided to do all my scenes so I could go to N.Y.

About a week later, N.Y

“We found him his in the room 300.” Shannon said on the phone while I ran as fast as I could to the hospital.

I arrived barely breathing and I entered the room silently. Constance was sleeping on a chair and on a plain white bed surrounded by wires and very complex machines was Jared. I walked silently and I grabbed his hand with tears already going down my cheeks.

His face was peaceful, but his head had bandages all around, his arms and legs had also bandages and he seemed to be deeply asleep. This was so unfair. He never hurt anyone, he always wanted others to be happy and this happened to him like it happened to my mother years ago.

“Dearie...” Constance said placing her hand in my shoulder.

I looked at her and her eyes were red and swallow, she had been crying for hours. I hugged her tightly while sobbing uncontrollably

“Why him? Why us?” I said with angry tears going down my eyes.

I couldn’t stand the idea of never seeing his icy blue eyes over my face again, of never feeling his touch again, his sense of humor and all of the feelings he provoked on me.

“It wasn’t anybodies fault he was in the wrong place in the wrong time.” Constance said

I shook my head. It just didn’t fit inside of me. Jared didn’t deserve a bit of this not even a bit.

“You’re here.” Shannon said entering the room and then hugging me in a caring way

“What about the tour?” I asked him whipping my tears

“We had to cancel we… we don’t know when he’s going to wake up.” Shannon said hiding his tears while mine were running again down my eyes.

“What about Mamma Mia dear?” Constance asked

“I worked hard and I shot almost all my scenes, I have about one month to be here.” I said

“You look sleepy, that chair is comfortable.” Constance said

I nodded with my head and I went towards the chair falling asleep quickly.

Shannon’s P.O.V

“She’s sleeping.” I said to my mother observing Paty.

She looked devastated.

“I’m going to the hotel to take a quick shower and eat something alright sweetheart?” my mom said kissing my forehead and leaving.

She left and I stared and my little brother. How could this happen? To him out of all people. He had been in this bed for almost a week, he could there for years and my mom might not take it.

“Shanimal.” I heard a very weak voice call, I looked up to see Jared’s eyes opening slowly

“Oh Christ! Jared you’re awake!” I said happily

“Don’t wake Paty. What is she doing here?” Jared said worried

“She’s here for you.” I said

“This is wrong. I’m keeping her behind.” Jared said and then his doctor came in with a smile

“Well Mr. Leto it is very good that you woke up. Your legs are partially hurt but you will be fine in some weeks.” The doctor said

“Doctor is there anyway to pretend that I’m dead?” Jared said with sadness in his voice

“Jared what are you saying?!” I asked him shocked

“Paty shouldn’t be here. I’m not letting her become an actress I’m pulling her to my shadow and she’s so talented. It’s time for her to be free.” Jared said

“You don’t mean what you say. You love her.” I said

“It’s because I love her that I need to do this, doctor can you help me?” Jared asked

“Mr. Leto it is possible but are you sure?” the doctor asked

“I’m sure.” Jared said

“You said you would never hurt her again and now you are going to pretend that you are dead? And then what? You are going to let the woman of your life run away like that?” I said shocked

“It’s the best for her. She doesn’t deserve to see me like this, she has all her life and career in front of her.” Jared said sadly

“You will seem dead but all your senses will be fine. You will be able to listen but not to see.” The doctor said giving him some medicine that would make him seem dead.

Paty’s P.O.V

I woke up what seemed like hours later to find Constance crying all dressed in black with Shannon by her side glaring at Jared.

“What happened?” I asked rubbing my eyes.

“He… He is.. He didn’t make it.” Shannon said

My life stopped. I retained the air in my lungs

“What? NO!” I yelled punching the wall while tears ran down my eyes desperately. Jared couldn’t be dead, not him.

“NO!NO!NO! SHIT!!” I yelled punching the wall furiously until Shannon pulled me against him holding me tight so I wouldn’t just start to kick and scream everywhere

“Tell me. TELL ME it isn’t true.” I begged Shannon

Shannon eyes were full of tears. Constance got up and Shannon accompanied her, so I sat near Jared and I grabbed his dead hand.

“I’m here again,
a thousand miles away from you
A broken mess
just scattered pieces of who I am.
I’ve lost so most along the way.

I find everything thing I thought I lost before.

I sang silently while caressing Jared’s hand and tears fell down my eyes.

My light, my heaven, my safeness had all broke away to reveal nothing. To reveal my emptiness. He was dead, the one person I had loved completely was dead.

I am supposed to have my happy ending?
