Mikey Way is a sophomore at Rutgers University. He's in the top 5 of all of his classes, has a great job at a bookstore part-time, and has an awesome apartment only a few minutes away from Rutgers.
He has an amazing girlfriend, Verilyn, who happens to be in his year. She's pretty, smart, and has Mikey smitten. Best of all, she loves him more than words could say.
Mikey's older brother Gerard went away to college when Mikey was still in high school. He missed Gerard, their bond dimishing to a few phone calls a month. One day, Gerard shows up at Mikey's door, ready to move in.
Life's great.
But as destiny weaves its path, something happens that shouldn't happen, something that threatens to take both Verilyn and Gerard away from Mikey. His first instint: tell the truth. But sometimes, honesty just doesn't get it done.
