He glanced back at her, and she saw the sincerity in his eyes. "Because I met one," he said.

They have always been there, waiting in the wings, lurking in the shadows, biding their time until they can find a chance to reach out and seize control. Vampires weren't supposed to be real. They were myths, the subjects of stories and movies. But they were simply hiding, kept at bay by the Old Ones, the Ancients.

In the year 2015, following a devastating war that leaves the world vulnerable, they get their chance. They begin to take over, and there is nothing that can stop them. The human race has just become an endangered species, and the Ancient ones are ready to build their Empire.

The time of man is over. The age of the Immortals has begun.
