“I won’t ask about it anymore,” John told her. "Kennedy's name will not come up again."
“You are becoming more and more perfect, O’Callaghan,” she said, tapping her bottle against his.
“Is it because of the alcohol?” John laughed.
Logan smiled at him, “I am an excellent drunk. None of that drunken thoughts sober hearts crap. That just gives people a reason to confess things. I’ll stick to just not lying in the first place so I have no hidden thoughts.”
“Or you’re just excellent at hiding things,” John said.
Logan flashed him a sideways smile as she shrugged. Her voice was soft and full of misplaced regret as she spoke slowly, “Haven’t you heard? I fooled an entire town for eighteen years.”
