A Drift Between Worlds

The sound of thunder filled the air as the rain poured down heavy and hard, no sighs of letting up. My bare feet ached with every step as I splashed my way through puddle after puddle. My breath came fast and hard as I ran through the forest. I didn't know where I was going but anywhere had to be better than where I was.
