Same Time, Next Year

Starting in 1992, Billie Joe and a young woman named Mary Finnigan meet by chance at the bar of a seaside inn. She's married with a baby at home and he's dating Adrienne Nesser and somehow they find themselves in the same bed the next morning questioning how this could have happened. They then agree to meet on the same weekend, each year.

'Same Time, Next Year' is based on the film from 1978 (starring Ellen Burstyn and Alan Alda) which was originally a stage play of the same name. The characters are seen changing, years apart, always in the same room in different scenes. Each of them always appears on schedule, but as time goes on each have some personal crisis that the other helps them through, often without both of them understanding what is going on.
