DIY Split End Treatment
Personally, I am terrible when it comes to getting my hair cut and trimmed on a regular basis, and because of this, I tend to get a lot of split ends. Tons of shampoos and other hair products claim to be the cure to split ends, but a lot of them are ridiculously expensive or just don’t work. This is a great DIY split end treatment that only requires two ingredients and is really easy and inexpensive to make.
For this split end treatment, you will need coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. Coconut oil is a great product to keep around the house because you can also use it as a natural moisturizer for skin. It doesn’t clog your pores, and it won’t irritate sensitive skin.
Step One
Rub a few drops of coconut oil between your palms. You may have to experiment a few times to find the perfect amount. Avoiding your roots, run your hands through your hair to evenly distribute the coconut oil.
Step Two
Wait fifteen minutes for the coconut oil to soak in.
Step Three
After the fifteen-minute wait, shampoo hair and rinse with cold water to seal strands.
Step Four
Dilute one cup of apple cider vinegar with water until you have enough for your hair, then pour the mixture over your hair. Rinse with cool water. Because there is a slight smell, you may want to follow by misting your hair with your favorite body spray.
