Braided Headband

This is a really cute look that has been seen on different celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens and Lauren Conrad, and I feel like it’s a perfect easy, breezy hairstyle for summer. While it may look a little complicated, the braided headband is actually incredibly easy to do. It’s one of those handy hairstyles that looks like you spent a ton of time doing your hair when you really didn’t.

For this look, you’ll need two small, clear hair elastics and some bobby pins.

  1. In my opinion, this style looks best on wavy or loosely curled hair, but I’m sure it would look cool on straight hair as well. For that effortless boho look, you’ll want to either curl your hair and brush it out slightly or start with beachy waves.
  2. Gather the hair along your hairline and brush it back so that it’s sleek, securing it momentarily with bobby pins and misting it with hairspray.
  3. Next, gather a section of hair from behind each of your ears. This works best if your hair is a little longer. If your hair is too short, the braids won’t make it across your head.
  4. Braid the two sections of hair and secure the braids with the small elastics.
  5. Adjust the braids so that they lie across the top of your head to form a headband, then pin into place with bobby pins.
  6. Remove the bobby pins you used in step two, and mist the final look down with some hairspray.
