How to Keep Your Face Smooth and Clear

Growing up I've noticed how much teenagers worried about their acne. About how their faces broke out in stressful times or their skin was just naturally oily. When I was 14 my skin was extremely pale and I couldn't not find any makeup to smooth my complexion. One day I decided to put some simple baby powder into an old makeup powder container. I used my powder brush to apply it and it rubbed into my skin color and disappeared from sight. I noticed not only did it not show up but it made me face feel so smooth and I couldn't even feel it on my skin. Bear in mind I have sensitive skin too.

Years later I also realized I did not once break out during puberty when I used that powder. It changed everything. I recommended it to friends and it even helped them out. Of course I needed to wash my face like normal but applying it before bed or when I woke up made me skin feel so much better. Especially when I used the same brand of baby lotion and wash.

Products Needed:

  • Baby Powder (I personally use Johnson's brand)

Helpful Additions:

  • Baby Moisturizing Lotion or Cream ( Again Johnson's is a excellent brand)
  • Baby Body and Face Wash

Supplies:

  • Bottle of Baby Powder, big or small
  • Bottle of Baby Moisturizing Lotion or Cream (Optional)
  • Bottle of Baby Body and Face Wash (Optional)
  • Recycled or New Makeup power container
  • Funnel
  • Powder Brush (Soft Bristles Work Best)
  • Newspaper or table cloth for easy clean up

Instructions:

  1. Place the newspaper to protect your surroundings.
  2. Go into a well ventilated area, the power will come up in smoke if poured too quickly.
  3. Take your empty makeup powder container and open the lid.
  4. Place the funnel, if you chose, over the container and start to slowly pour the Baby Powder into it. Do not dump it because it will blow up in your face, literally. Also try not to directly inhale it either.
  5. After the container is full close the lid and put up the powder and clean up your area.
  6. Then wash your face, I recommend Baby Body and Face Wash. It's perfect for sensitive skin and does not clog the pores. Make sure not to scrub, it will only irritate the skin.
  7. After drying your face thoroughly, remember to pat dry not rub. If there is any dry skin lightly rub Baby Moisturizing Lotion or Cream into the places. If not, a little bit would not hurt. Wait to dry.
  8. Once done take your makeup brush and lightly dab the end in the powder. Tab the end so there isn't too much on the brush.
  9. In circular motions rub the brush across your face, neck and chest if desired. Don't apply to open eyes or inside nose. Try to hold your breath do you do not inhale the product directly. If there is any missed areas just use your fingers to smooth it over.
  10. Wait a few minutes before you put on your regular make up. I recommend not doing this step before you put on base or foundation. It tends to make it sticky. If you don't use those products then ignore this step.

Tips:

  • Try not to directly inhale the powder, like all powder extended exposure can cause some risk to health. I've personally used this product and only sneezed once in a while while applying it.
  • If you wear foundation, base or anything like that I recommend to do the powder at least an hour before applying the makeup. At first the makeup will settle well but within hours it might get sticky.
  • The washing is highly recommended, the powder is mainly used to soak up any excess oils and can be placed on the face any time of the day. With to without the wash.
  • This powder can be used on all skin colors and types. Darker skin will have a little shine but if rubbed in good enough it will disappear completely.

Safety Precautions:

  • Again do not directly inhale. I've seen articles on babies with powder being blown in their face daily having issues. I have yet to see anything on harmful Heath risks if applied to the skin.
  • Always test out on your skin before you completely apply. Even though rare, allergies can still happen.

Always remember, it's what's on the inside that counts.
