Easy, Everyday, Neutral Makeup

This is pretty much the way I do my makeup for class every day, when I actually do wear makeup. I feel like it’s a simple look that makes you look put together while still looking natural and not overdone. I’m not a huge believer in department store makeup brands, especially when it comes to playing around with different looks, so all of these products can be found in stores like Walmart, Target, or any drugstores. I’ve included links to photos of each step for reference.

Face

I have really fair skin, but I’m including the names of the products I’ve used just in case people that have a similar skin tone as me would like to check them out or if people with a different skin tone than mine would like to see if the product offers a color for their own skin tone.

  1. I start off with Maybelline’s BB Cream in Light/Fair. This is generally the only face makeup I wear because it’s lightweight and looks natural while providing decent coverage, but since my birthday was last week and I pigged out on sweets, my face is broken out. Desperate times call for even more makeup.
  2. Next, I apply concealer to any problem areas. I use Neutrogena’s Skin-Clearing Concealer in Buff. It has salicylic acid in it, which is an active ingredient in most acne products, plus the creamy texture allows it to blend more easily and provide a more natural looking coverage.
  3. Before I put on my mineral foundation, I apply a peachy blush to the apples of my cheeks using a blush brush. I’ve found that blush looks more like a natural glow if you layer a light mineral powder over it. I used CoverGirl’s TruBlend mineral blush in Shimmering Sands.
  4. For mineral foundation, I love Physician’s Formula Happy Booster foundation in Beige. It comes with a little bit of blush as well, but I think the blush is a little too pink for every day wear.

Eyes

  1. Moving onto the eyes, I start out with eyeshadow. My all-time favorite eyeshadow palette is Physician’s Formula’s Baked eyeshadow trio in Baked Oatmeal. It’s a great taupey neutral palette that’s great for an every day natural look, but it can also be layered with other colors to form different looks. I use the brush that comes with it to swipe the base taupe color across my lids.
  2. Next, I use the light cream color on my brow bones and the corner of my eyes as a highlighter.
  3. Using a crease brush, I apply the dark brown color of the palette in my creases and along the outer corner to give my eyes a little more definition. Sometimes I choose not to do the creases, and either way, it looks fine.
  4. Using the espresso brown liner in Physician’s Formula’s eyeliner trio for brown eyes, I line my bottom lashline.
  5. Finally, I apply a couple coats of CoverGirl’s NatureLuxe mousse mascara in Black Brown to the lashes along my upper lashline.

Lips

  1. For the lips, I use three products: a tinted lip balm, a coral lipstick, and a peachy pink lipgloss. To start off, I put on Hard Candy’s tinted lip balm in Fishnet. It doesn’t give much in the form of color, but it’s a great moisturizer, smells like a cupcake, and kind of complements the natural color of my lips.
  2. Next, I layer on Rimmel’s Moisture Renew lipstick in Coral Shimmer. I'm not a huge lipstick person, but I have this lipstick in a few shades, and I love it. This coral shade is a light, shimmery color that gives a little oomph without being too much.
  3. The last step I do to my lips is to apply this pink lipgloss as a way to finish off the look. The label is worn off of this particular gloss, but I do believe it was from the Olsen twin’s old makeup line for Walmart. Really, any light pink gloss will do the trick.

And voila! The look is complete. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask in the comments or shoot me a message. I'll answer to the best of my ability.
