Seashell Eyes

This is an eye makeup look using Neutrogena’s eyeshadow quad palette in the color Seashell. I had to get this palette when I saw it used in Emma Robert’s Seventeen cover, and I love it because it’s a really subtle and natural wash of color. While the actual palette itself has instructions on how to use the different shadows, I found that it looked too ghastly and white on my complexion, so I modified it slightly to include a little more color.

  1. This is Neutrogena’s eyeshadow quad in Seashell. It can be really difficult to find Neutrogena’s eyeshadow quads because a lot of stores that sell Neutrogena cosmetics do not carry the eyeshadows. So far, I’ve only found one newer Walmart in my area that sells them.
  2. First off, I start by applying the light base color over my entire lid and browbone.
  3. Next, I apply the shimmery pink tone referred to as the highlight color on the packaging over my lid, stopping at the crease. This gives the look a little bit more color and looks way better, in my opinion.
  4. Now, using a crease brush, I apply the brown crease color into the crease of my eyelid.
  5. To finish off the eyeshadow, I apply a shimmery cream shadow onto my browbone and the inner corner of my eye to work as a highlighter. I used the highlighter from Physician's Formula's Baked Sands trio, but you can use any cream tone that you have handy.
  6. For the liner, I use either the purple liner or the espresso liner from the Physician's Formula eyeliner trio for brown eyes. Today, I used the espresso liner to line my lower and upper lash lines, but I've used the purple with this shadow combination before and it looks really pretty as well.
  7. Curl lashes, apply a couple coats of an espresso-colored mascara, and you're done. Here's how the finished product looks.
