That's your opinion, and this is a tutorial on something medical-based - the author was obviously not trying to incorporate their opinion into it.

I don't think this was researched all that well, but if you rewrote it with some more reliable information, it could be very helpful to some people. This is a very different subject to write a tutorial about, but nose bleeds can get annoying to the extent of even being "unstoppable" to some people if they don't know any methods.

"Don't snort/sniff drugs to often."???? LMAO was that a joke? You shouldn't do drugs at all!!! Unless your talking about nasal sprays or something medical to that extent. If you are talking about something medical related, than that was a poor choice of words.

On the article, I'm just gonna have to agree with the other commenters. I found it a little un-researched (considering that you didn't write any sources on where you found this information). When writing about a serious medical topic, you really need to do intense research on the topic, since you might give out the wrong information that some people may take that as fact and may injure themselves.

If someone has a medical question about their body or anything that they feel is "weird" or "wrong" with their body, the most important thing to do is contact a real doctor.

Ah... As everyone's mentioned already, method 5 is actually really bad advice, lol. It may help prevent the blood from staining your carpet or whatever, but it doesn't stop your nose from bleeding (which is what this article is supposed to be all about), and it could cause vomiting, diarrhea, suffocation, choking on your own blood, etc. Which would be a gazillion times worse than the nose bleed itself. "Drinking water right afterwards to wash it out" might not work.

I think you should've done more proper research before writing this article. And to prevent people from being misinformed by this article, I highly suggest you edit it. If you're unable to edit the article after it's published, then I suggest that you delete this article first and if you'd like, publish it again or something, if that's possible.

You NEVER EVER want to tilt your head back in any way. You want to lean forward. Like every one else said, leaning back caused the blood to go down your throat and such, and you can choke on your own blood.

METHOD 5 IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG. I capitolized that because I've been having nosebleeds since I was two years old (bad nosebleeds that have sent me to the hospital) and my doctor told me that putting your head back and allowing the blood to go down the back of your throat can cause you to choke. You are TO LEAN FOWARD AND APPLY PRESSURE AT THE BRIDGE OF THE NOSE so that the blood will form clots and stop bleeding (the same way you would hold pressure on a cut). An ice pack can be added to the back of the neck or the bridge of the nose. I've found that sitting in front of a fan will help too. I think most of your information was well done but that last method is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and I urge you to edit your tutorial so that it says differently.

While I agree with your method of taking an ice pack or wet washcloth to your nose and cheecks, there are somethings I don't exacly agree on. The best way to stop a nose bleed (the best way is obv different for everyone, but this is from doctors) is to actually pinch all the soft part of your nose (below the bone) and hold your nose for about 5 minutes. If after you let go of your nose, and there is still blood coming out, you are advised to go to the hospital. But obviously, the best thing to do in case of a nose bleed, is to remain calm, and let the blood come out on its own and to keep a tissue on the area.

And also, I know that the people below me commented on the matter already but the last method about titling your head back is extremely dangerous, and should not be done. Honestly, would you rather have a little mess to clean up, or vomiting, diarreah, and possible suffocation?

Method 5 is actually something a doctor warns against anyone doing. You aren't supposed to tilt your head back and let blood run down your throat; this can cause blood to fill your lungs. You're supposed to tilt your head forward and get all of the blood to come out, and if the blood is more than a cup full, you're advised to go to the hospital because you may be hemorrhaging.

Not to sound rude or disrespectful in anyway, but where did you get these tips from? It's just that I have had a lot of nose bleeds as a kid so I would talk to my doctor about such things, quite often. And while I was reading through these methods, I was wondering if they were actually helpful and not harmful.

For example: Pinching the bridge of your nose. This is from http://www.health-bytes.com/nosebleeds.htm
Putting a cold rag or ice pack on the nose, lip, or forehead (or anywhere else) does nothing to stop the nosebleed. Pinching the bridge of the nose, upper lip, or tip of the nose does nothing either.

And I know you stated this in your article, but tilting your head back during a nose-bleed can be very dangerous. It may stop the blood from flowing onto the carpet but it doesn't stop the blood from flowing. Instead of going out of the body, the blood goes down the throat and into the stomach causing the person to vomit. Or, the blood can go into the windpipe and cause you to have trouble beathing.

I'm not pretending to be a doctor or anything but I do have a pretty good education on the pesky nose-bleeds and if you found your information from a worthy site or from your doctor, then please disregard this information. Smile
