How to Make Lemonade

First, you need to make sure that you have all of the ingredients. The basic ratio of lemon juice to water to sugar is 1-1-1, but that changes based on your desired sweetness.

Step 1

Mix 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan and heat it up until all of the sugar is dissolved. This won't take long, probably only a few minutes. Be sure to stir occasionally so that the sugar doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan and burn.

Step 2

While your sugar/water mix is heating up, use a juicer or hand squeeze 4 to 6 lemons (just enough to have 1 cup of lemon juice). Make sure that their aren't any seeds left in the juice before you do anything else. Nobody wants to die while enjoying a cup of lemonade.

Step 3

Get a pitcher and combine your sugar/water mix with the lemon juice. Stir the mixture until it is sufficiently mixed.

Step 4

Water down the mixture by adding 3-5 cups of water.

Step 5

Taste the mixture to see if it is sweet enough for you. If not, feel free to add as much sugar as you need (just know that those few extra grams of sugar might catch up to you later on).

And there you have it, homemade lemonade without any fake stuff in it (so long as you used real sugar).
