Sugar Cookies
I love sugar cookies. I make them a lot. Probably more than I should, but what can I say. They're yummy. Here is the recipe that I use to make them.
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups and 1 tsp of all-purpose flour.
- 1/2 tsp of baking soda
- 1/4 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 cups of softened butter
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
Note: This makes two dozen cookies. For twice the amount of cookies, just double the ingredients.
Procedure
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and the baking powder. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until it is smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the oven or until golden color.
- Let the cookies cool for two minutes before removing them to cool on a wire rack. (A plate is fine.)
These cookies are great for any day of the year. Enjoy.
