How to Make Brownies from Scratch

Brownies are hands down my favorite treat in the whole wide world. I've loved them since I can remember. And sometimes I get those intense cravings for brownies and *oh no!* no box brand! What are we to do? Well, have no fear my brownie loving friends because I have the absolute most perfect recipe to make the most amazing, moist, gooey, chocolaty brownies you will ever taste.

Things you'll need:

Materials:

  • 9 x 13 x 1 baking pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula (anything that you can mix with
  • Measuring spoons/measuring cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter (two full sticks)
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flower
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder

How to make the perfect brownies:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour your baking pan. To grease and flour your baking pan, take a tablespoon of solid butter and smear it all over the bottom of the pan and all of the sides. Make sure that you get every single nook and cranny of the baking dish smeared with butter. Next, take a small handful of flour and toss it on the pan. Run the flour all across the pan so that all of the butter is covered with flour. (This is recommended to do over the sink to eliminate a big flour mess.)
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, place the two sticks of butter and melt in the microwave for 30 - 45 seconds. Cut up the sticks of butter into chunks to help speed up the melting.
  3. Once melted, pour the melted butter into a large mixing bowl and stir in 2 cups of sugar, 4 eggs, and 2 tsp. vanilla.
  4. Beat in 2/3 cup cocoa powder, 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/2 tsp. baking powder.
  5. Once the batter looks mixed well, pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake in 350 degree F (175 degrees C) over for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out without crumbs. Do not overcook the brownies.
  7. Let the brownies cool off before enjoying this yummy chocolate treat.

Well, there you have it. In less than an hour, you have the most perfect brownies you have ever tasted (And much better than the box brand, in my opinion). I hope you try this simple recipe out and enjoy your wonderful brownies.
