Blondies, Not Brownies
Here's a quick and easy recipe for a delicious treat with minimal ingredients and effort.
Ingredients
- 2/3 cups of melted butter
- 2 cups of brown sugar
- 2 eggs (at room temperature)
- 2 cups of self-rising flour
- 1 cup of milk chocolate chips
What You'll Do
- Preheat your oven to 350 F.
- Melt 2/3 cups of butter completely, in the microwave.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the melted butter and 2 cups of brown sugar. Mix until well incorporated.
- Allow the butter/brown sugar mixture to cool to room temperature.
- Once cool, add the 2 eggs to the butter/brown sugar mix and, using a whisk, blend well.
- Add 2 cups of self-rising flour into the bowl and mix well, using a hand-mixer or a wooden spoon.
- Add 1 cup of milk chocolate chips and mix until well-distributed.
- Grease your baking dish (with butter or Crisco) and dust lightly with a coating of flour. (This will help to keep your blondies from sticking to the pan.)
- Move the blondie mix into your baking dish and spread evenly. (It should be about a 1/2 inch to 3/4 of an inch thick.)
- Bake at 350 F for about 25 - 30 minutes. (You'll know it's done when the top is no longer gooey.)
- Remove your blondies from the oven and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!
Tips
- You can use more or less chocolate chips, depending on how chocolatey you want.
- If milk chocolate chips are too sweet, try using semi-sweet or dark chocolate.
- You can also add other chocolate sweets instead of (or in addition to) chocolate chips, like M&Ms, chopped nuts, or peanut butter chips.
