Blondies, Not Brownies

Here's a quick and easy recipe for a delicious treat with minimal ingredients and effort.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cups of melted butter
  • 2 cups of brown sugar
  • 2 eggs (at room temperature)
  • 2 cups of self-rising flour
  • 1 cup of milk chocolate chips

What You'll Do

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 F.
  2. Melt 2/3 cups of butter completely, in the microwave.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the melted butter and 2 cups of brown sugar. Mix until well incorporated.
  4. Allow the butter/brown sugar mixture to cool to room temperature.
  5. Once cool, add the 2 eggs to the butter/brown sugar mix and, using a whisk, blend well.
  6. Add 2 cups of self-rising flour into the bowl and mix well, using a hand-mixer or a wooden spoon.
  7. Add 1 cup of milk chocolate chips and mix until well-distributed.
  8. Grease your baking dish (with butter or Crisco) and dust lightly with a coating of flour. (This will help to keep your blondies from sticking to the pan.)
  9. Move the blondie mix into your baking dish and spread evenly. (It should be about a 1/2 inch to 3/4 of an inch thick.)
  10. Bake at 350 F for about 25 - 30 minutes. (You'll know it's done when the top is no longer gooey.)
  11. Remove your blondies from the oven and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving.

Enjoy!

Tips

  • You can use more or less chocolate chips, depending on how chocolatey you want.
  • If milk chocolate chips are too sweet, try using semi-sweet or dark chocolate.
  • You can also add other chocolate sweets instead of (or in addition to) chocolate chips, like M&Ms, chopped nuts, or peanut butter chips.
