Sweet Bar-B-Q Chicken

I love chicken and I love baking it. I wanted to make bar-b-q chicken one day, but did not have any bar-b-q sauce. So, I experimented with what I had in my kitchen and came up with this recipe for bar-b-q chicken.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken (This can be any part of the chicken you prefer to eat.)
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Baking pan (Preferably one large enough)
  • Tin foil
  • Non-stick cooking spray (I use Pam, but any will do.)
  • A small mixing bowl
  • Spoon

Direction:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Line a baking pan with tin foil and then spray the surface with your non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In the small bowl, mix the ketchup and brown sugar and add salt and pepper to taste. (You can always add more brown sugar for a darker sauce and/or to your liking.)
  4. Arrange the chicken evenly on the tin foil and season lightly with salt and pepper. Cook for 30 minutes.
  5. After the first 30 minutes, remove the chicken and cover with the sauce and cook for another 30 minutes or until the juices run clear and the meat is no longer pink on the inside. (I usually take the largest piece of chicken and cut it through the thickest part to check.)

Note: Be careful when handling the chicken when taking it out of the oven. It will be extremely hot, especially once the sauce is added. Also, be sure to wash your hands with soap and warm water once you touch the raw chicken. Enjoy!
