Super Easy Sandwich Bread Recipe
A super easy sandwich bread recipe that's perfect for beginners and takes less than 2 hours to make.
Ingredients
- 2C HG Flour
- 6oz Whole Wheat Flour
- 2T Melted Butter
- 2 1/4 t Yeast
- 1 1/4C Water at 110º
- 2t Salt
- 1 Egg
- 3T Honey
Yields 1 Loaf of Sandwich Bread in a 4X8 inch pan.
Steps
- Combine flour, yeast, honey, & butter in a bowl and blend it together.
- Add water after it’s combined well and knead for 10 minutes.
- Wrap bowl in plastic wrap and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Dissolve the salt in water (be careful not to add too much water to the salt, just enough to dissolve it) and add it to the mixture. Be sure to not add the salt before this step because it slows down the yeast process.
- Knead dough some more for a minute or two, just to get the salt water well kneaded into it.
- Pour dough into a 4X8 greased cake pan and let it rise for 20 minutes into the pan.
- After 20 minutes, use the egg to egg wash the bread.
- Bake at 375º until the internal temperature is 210º.
- Brush some melted butter onto the top of the bread when it comes out of the oven, and allow it to cool.
- Slice and enjoy!
Total Time: Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes-2 hours.
