Moist Banana Bread

Banana bread is nutritious and delicious but the hassle and work it takes to make homemade banana bread is always daunting. This simple recipe makes it easy as well... bread to make.

Ingredients

  • 3 Bananas
  • 1/2 of butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

How To

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Mash the bananas well.
  4. Add the mashed bananas and eggs to sugar/butter mixture and mix together well. Then add the vanilla.
  5. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda in a separate bowl.
  6. Add the flour mixture in parts to the wet mixture. Mix well.
  7. Grease a large loaf pan and pour mixture in.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool to room temperature before slicing.

In this delicious recipe I love to add about 1/4 cup of small chocolate morsels and 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts. It adds sweetness and texture to the bread and if you're a chocoholic like me helps curb that urge to eat something chocolatey.
