West Indians make this too! My mom is Trinidadian and we call it 'fry bake.' They also make it a little smaller - maybe about 3 inches across - and we it stuff it with cooked saltfish (I think it's called "baccala" here in the US though). I've never eaten it with something sweet though, so I'll definitely have to try it out
