How to Create Vlogs

In the past many people have used diaries/journals or blogs to keep track of their life. However, something is rising, it's happening slowly, but it is happening. What is this you may ask? Well, this is vlogs.

What is a vlog?

A Vlog is a video you make in which you talk about things. Whether that be your personal life, concerns, or full out rants; vlogs are very awesome. Many people have vlogs on YouTube. Some can be very funny, others may make you feel a lot of emotion, and some are just outright boring.

Okay, I'm interested. Now, how do I go about making one?

Well, I'm glad you asked! I have just recently started making vlogs and what you do is very simple actually. Did you have something exciting happen in your day? Did something tick you off beyond words and you just want to rant about it? Well, get out your handy dandy video camera, iPod, iPhone, or really anything that you can do video on and upload it to YouTube. It doesn't really matter what you use as long as it has good quality and sound.

Go to some place quiet. Try not to have any music playing unless absolutely necessary. You don't want to have a bunch of people talking and carrying on then have your viewers get distracted by it, do you? Now this place could be your bedroom, outside, in your basement, or in your living room.

Make it interesting! Don't talk in monotone! No one wants to hear you talk like you're even bored with the topic. Use pizazz! Don't be afraid to get really into what you're talking about. Yell, scream, and use different voices. Just don't be boring! I cannot stress this enough. There have been many times when I have come across blogs that are so boring I darn near fall asleep.

Don't let your vlog drag on, especially in silence. A small amount of silence is okay, but too much can cause your viewers to get bored. Not everyone has a large attention span. Remember that. Try to keep your vlog between 3 to 10 minutes. If it's 10 minutes, make sure it's worthwhile and very interesting. The worst thing you can do is waste a viewers’ time. Trust me.

Whatever you do, don't bash. I mean, I don't care what you're talking about, don't bash. You'll get a lot of hate for it and chances are people won't watch your vlogs.

Most importantly: Have fun!! Don't try to make videos that impress others, make something that you like/love. Make something that impresses you, because if you make a vlog that'll impress you, it's sure to impress others.
