How to Write A Good Story

To begin with, always decide what characters you're going to have in your story, and what their roles are going to be. Never begin a story without knowing the characters and the plot first. I'm not suggesting that you think of a plot for months, develop it, get real life characters, but give the story a little thought before you begin it.

Decide whether your story will be in first, second, or third person. It is good to shift Point Of View's in the story so that the reader has a glimpse of what is going on in the story overall, and it's not just a monotonous, dialogue with one-sided views and thoughts.

Don't make it a long, droning narrative. Include good dialogue to keep the reader hooked, and include good descriptions of place, people and atmosphere.

If you don't describe the atmosphere and the setting, the reader will not be able to understand the story/chapter.

If you say, 'We were supposed to be on our way to the airport, and our bags weren't even packed yet," and then randomly end the paragraph with, 'When we got off the plane, I had to pull my coat all the way around my and tighten the muffler around my neck due to the cold," the reader wouldn't know when you left for the airport. The reader wouldn't know when you finished packing you're bags, when you actually got onto the plane, and so on.

It is best to give pictures of characters, so that the reader can imagine the story as if it were real. Imagery is an extremely strong point of the writer, because with imagery you are able to convince someone that a mere fictional plot is actually a real life situation.

Moreover, make sure the reader knows how the characters are feeling. Don't talk about the scene as if it's tedious, because then the characters appear to be robots who have no feelings whatsoever. Include whatever you would feel if you were in that position; it's great to add real life experiences and emotions, because the give the feeling of sentimental value in the story. Another reason why you should write in different Point Of View's is because they give the reader a sense of what all characters are feeling, and sometimes they also give subtle hints about what's going to happen.

Don't abbreviate words for no apparent reason. Like put 'you' as 'u' and 'the' as 'd' because it is simply aggravating. If you don't want readers to be peeved, take the time to type out all the letters, because it takes mere seconds.

DON'T PLAGIARIZE. It may look like a good idea at first, and it may make you very popular amongst Mibba, but don't ever think you're not going to get hate messages from people who like the real story. Don't think the actual writer has no feelings and will not be affected if someone literally steals their story, because it is very hurtful.

Last but not least, write about what you want to, not what others tell you to. Develop the plot according to how you like it, and make sure you add plenty of sentimental paragraphs to make it seem real. Don't be fake, abbreviate, or plagiarize, and don't report writers for no reason because it can lead to extremely well developed stories being taken down.
