Cool article, but I think you could make it a bit longer with a few more characters and could use a short introduction, even if it's just a sentence stating it's about the typical "high school teen romance drama" genre. You could put something in about the Mary Sue's best friend who is terribly loyal to her regardless of the danger they may be putting thwmself into. There's also often the Blonde's mindless minions, the quiet overachiever who lacks confidence and has no friends (if they're a guy they may also have a crush on the main girl), the druggie loner, the quirky acquaintance... There are heaps you could write about Wink

Ironically, I don't actually remember coming across "The Blonde" character as you described her before... Hmm, oh well. Maybe that's a good thing. :p

The closest character I can think of is what I think most people would call "the mean girl" -- isn't that a stereotypical character that should've been included, too? :o You know, the character who's often: the head cheerleader, a little slutty, hot (not 'beautiful') (usually a lot hotter than the main character), a dumb blonde, bossy, bitchy, the initial girlfriend of the main character's jock love interest at the beginning but ends up losing her boyfriend to the main character, etc...? Maybe, no? Idk.

Anyway, great article! :) A lot of people tend to make these stereotypical, shallow/hollow characters, which is sad because they have so much potential to be more (unless they're minor characters; in that case, I guess it wouldn't be too bad not to expand on them much).

Nice article! One of my favorite "jock" characters would have to be Ethan Wate from Beautiful Creatures and my favorite "blonde" character would have to be Riley from the same series. They have the outward appearance of these stereotypes, but the moment you dig a little deeper, they have morphed into somthing more.
