Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 345 | December 31st, 2007 at 11:01pm I got all of them so far off ebay, and then i found out there's this tiny comic store in a town near me that stocks it, so no more shipping charges larger than the item and two-week waits for me!
I love it. After the first issue i was sort of enthusiastic-side-of-"meh...", but 2, 3 and 4 came in the post this morning (i was meant to get them by Christmas) and i have to say, i couldn't stop reading. It's my first comic, so maybe i'm not all that experienced, but i think it's pretty damn good.
I always knew he had it in him
I personally like the drawings. They're really bold, and they sort of go with the feel of the story. I've seen some of Gerards character drawings on the internet, and compaired to Gabriels, they're quite complex(prettier though...), and wouldn't make it as lively as Gabriels.
And the cover art...
So yeah. Consider me a huge fan. |

I personally found Ba's work fantastic :/

Since I got issue#1, I was amazed by mainly the style of how Gerard wrote it--it was humorous, yet it stuck to a very firm concept. It remained in it's dysfunctional and witty elements, yet it kept a well-balanced sense of arcane insight that sort of gives you those shocks, intriguing static explosions of creativity. It reminded me of Mike Mignola's works--B.P.R.D, and Hellboy.
Who can't love Spaceboy? I have to say he's my favorite. He reminds me of Gee very much. His sense of leadership is awe-inspiring, and he reAlly is the reason on why I even get T.U.A. The Kraken and the Seance are tied at my second favorites.
"You know what a vegetable thinks about? Firecrackers...beestings...happy face eggs."
"I've been eating speed for the past few days, and everytime I close my eyes, I see centipedes."
"Everything I own is black."
I could sit here and type Seance quotes all day if I want.
The Art was unanimously incredible (the cover Art, at least D: ). Gabriel Ba can't draw much well, but in issue#4, I guess...he improved. The backgrounds in Vanya's transfo were nice. The capilliaries adorned with musical notes were flooded with elaborate beauty. I loved the ending part, where the conductor of Orchestra Verdammten was split in two--brilliant deouncement. ^^
The lettercols are engrossing. I love everything they mention there, regardless if they know of MCR or not. I keep writing to them--they never reply, or even post them. D: I can't wait for the Emily the Strange comic out in January--EtS is one of me favorite characters. :3 I draw alot of TUA stuff. Never posted them, though.
I also made fics about them (all collabs ) :

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 3314 | January 25th, 2008 at 09:06am James Jean does amazing cover art. Gerard Way writes an amazing storyline. Gabriel Ba makes the characters come to life. And the dude that does the colours [Dave something] is pretty damn awesome.
And the CHARACTERS. God, they're so well thought out. And original superpowers too. It's amazing. |

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 155 | January 29th, 2008 at 10:04am I'm addicted to this comic only because i'm curious to see where it shall lead. I was so iffy when i first heard about it and still iffy when i read the first issue but now that i am on issue 4 or 5 i don't remember nor do i want to get up to look at the stack i'm just curious as to where it is going.
i figured as far as rockstars go,Gerad is it, isn't a bad one out of the bunch to attempt to write as far as knowledge i have found on him he seems to be quite a comic geek and it shows in his story.
my favorite (or at least the most interesting to me) has to be Rumor. there is just something about her that leaves me wanting to know more |

By the Way, the guy for the colors is Dave Stewart. I love Tony Ong's layouts--#4 being my personal favorite. |
